Would LA do it? Should we (as long as we still have Rubio)?

I mean I'd love it, I just have no idea what it does for LAC. They don't need wing depth. I don't really see what role LeVert fills for them. He's not a good fit in the starting lineup. Powell is their 6th man bench scorer. Wall's played well. I think if the Clippers are trading Kennard they're likely going to try to upgrade at starting PG or C. I don't believe they'd care about Caris as an expiring.

Osman + Windler for Covington is something I could actually see, or Osman + Okoro for Covington + Coffey. Both work financially.

I think Jason Kidd is a worse fit for that team than many are assigning blame for.
Wood doesn't play at all even though he id their 2nd best guy. Kidd doesn't like his D but they can't produce on offense without him. And he's bad but not trae tier on d
Dallas is going to be an interesting team to watch over the course of the next month or two. They have a number of pieces that would help us and they've lost 5 of 6. The west is really bunched up right now, but they're currently the 11 seed. The '23 1st they owe to NY is top 10 protected. Wood hasn't been a great fit. A month from now they're either going to be a team looking to make a move to add talent or potentially shed money for expirings and tank.

They're a Luka "injury" from being a bottom 10 team and getting into the Wemby sweepstakes. Given Luka's still only 23, I wouldn't put anything past Cuban at this point.

I'm sharing this for two reasons.

1. I think collectively, this board would run an NBA team better than half of the organizations in the league. We've got stat guys, salary cap guys, all around handsome guys like me, and the rest of you. Take 20 RCF guys and form a collective and we're one of the best run orgs in the game over the last decade and a half.

2. I wasnt lying when I talked about JBB winning me over and having a renewed patience for his growing pains. Watching stubborn ass hats like Kidd pit himself against other leaders in the org while seemingly playing ego games with major players in his rotation and just rolling the ball out there for critical ATO's to let "Luka Learn" has been infuriating for me through the early part of this season. He did this after one season in Brooklyn, and then again after one season in Milwaukee. He smells a little bit of success by getting his players buy-in as a collective and then he goes Ego Dictator like Henry VIII and requires a government overthrow and a head coaching execution.

I would give Jason Kidd the edge over JBB in tactical and rotational in-game management but I would give JBB the advantage in his ability to check his ego and be open to adjusting his coaching/philosophy game to game (and for our sake I'm hoping the in-game is coming along soon).

If you havent watched much Dallas, give them a look tonight. Kidd has sacrificed a few games now in the name of developing Luka's decision making and "breaking in" Wood to play the game defense first like Kidd wants.

Cuban and Nico gave him a 4 or 5 year deal. I doubt very much that he makes it through this contract.

It's the repeat of what he was doing with Giannis and the Bucks, almost to "T". It's amazing he learned nothing from that experience. Porzingis has obviously dealt with a bunch of injuries in his career, but he looked like shit last year in Dallas and has looked like the 'Zingis many of us hoped to see in Washington. Dallas just got bent over in that trade and had to take on some really bad money in the process. That Porzingis trade probably made it so they couldn't really re-sign Brunson as well, though he was probably always destined for NY. It becomes hard to justify paying Brunson when you already have Luka, Dinwiddie, and THJ under contract for multiple years.

My closest cousin is general counsel for the Mavericks, so I keep tabs on them.

I think Kidd is an absolutely shit choice to be coach for any franchise that isn't an all-star team. He's absolutely fantastic at getting his best players to work hard, not smart; which is the opposite of how I thought he played the game. Why any team would want their best players to do as much as possible is beyond me. Its something Lebron did that infuriated me while he was here. It's taking all responsibility and hope and putting the success of your team on one guy, wearing him down throughout the year, instead of coaching up/developing the rest of your guys to help carry the load so theyre ready during important games. JBB is doing the latter this year, and I think itll pay off big as the season winds down. Kidd is allergic go this, as evidenced by his entire coaching career, and his relative refusal to use Javale over Powell, or minimizing what Wood does well.

Probably not the answer at SF, but I'd be curious if the Warriors would explore either Okoro or Osman for Moody & Baldwin Jr? Moody has pretty much fallen out of the rotation, and while Okoro has his issues, I think he can actually fill a role for GSW as a perimeter defender. Moody has some offensive skills Okoro just doesn't have and Baldwin is just a boom or bust 6'9" wing prospect to take a shot on.

I'm assuming GSW would want Cedi instead of Okoro, but I'd at least consider it either way.

I was big on taking a shot on PBJ in the last draft and wouldn't mind doing so now. Moody could be interesting, too. Based on their needs created by GP2, Lee, OPJ leaving, I'm not sure we have anyone theyd want, but I wouldn't mind trying the deals you mentioned. I'd feel less bad sending Cedi to GSW than other places (on a human level).

My thinking was Okoro kind of fills the role GPII played and has some upside. I think Moody’s going to have trouble finding a rotation spot based on what they need. Maybe Iggy can help get something out of Okoro that we haven’t been able to.

Id do this in a heartbeat. I am still really high on Moody, had him like 8th on my board. Pretty sure GSW says no though. They seem to like Moody a ton too

Its been brought up before, but how do people feel about Kenrich Williams? Seems like the most easily accessible two way big wing, probably just cedi+2nd or windler+stevens+2nd. I think he is better than some of the other names brought up (Harrison, JRich) or much cheaper (Bojan, Harrison again). Kennard is the only one I think we have heard that is a more appealing option due to his Duke background.

I can't help but notice that the Pelicans have THREE starting caliber SF prospects in their bench, those being Dyson Daniels, Herbert Jones & Trey Murphy III. They've been getting more minutes with Ingram injured, but I wonder what role they'll have once Ingram comes back.

They probably view Daniels as the guy with the better upside of the three, which would leave us with Jones & Murphy. Jones is a defensive beast & they have enough scoring in Zion & Ingram. That leaves Murphy as the odd man out imo.

There could be something here for the Cavs without giving up our big 4. The Pels have a somewhat iffy contract in DeVonte Graham. Maybe they're high on LeVert?

Cleveland receives: Trey Murphy III, DeVonte Graham & Jaxson Hayes
New Orleans receives: Caris LeVert, Raul Neto, '24 unprotected swap & five second rounders

Why?
Trey Murphy solves our issue at the wing.
New Orleans dumps Graham & his contract. LeVert is a legitimate contributor & he's expiring.

Thoughts?

Bro thats a lot of picks. I dont see why NOP trades any of their young wings. They may have the best wing rotation outside of boston rn
