Small Forward Safari (2022-23 edition)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Maybe I’m naive but I think Bogdanovic this year could have been the edge that got us to the ECF - he would make our offense nearly unstoppable and when motivated he’s a good defender. But I hope you’re right about Okoros upside
He is in Detroit which means there is a good chance he will be available later in the year if they aren't looking too hot. I'd look into levert and a 2nd for him then

I'm gonna get flack for this but I think Bogdan is not worth giving up Okoro. If I could swap him for Caris, I would. Okoro is too critical for our defensive strategy and has a lot of upside to just dump now
I’m not a big Okoro fan but I agree with you on this point.

So what is the best course of action? Should they just let this season play out and let Kevin Love, Caris Lavert, Dylan Windler, etc come off the books during the summer so you can have $25 million in cap space? They should be able to get a decent 3&D small forward for $15 million and use the rest to fill out the bench. The problem is the bench will be very weak.

I dont know if we have cap this summer, i think we end up trading LeVert at the deadline, but maybe not if he works well of the bench, but we wont let him walk, Love probably comes back for around MLE which is what 12 mill next summer? I know crazy right. And Windler, well I think white shooting SF has been filled for the next 4 years, so Windler is probably let walk.

Raiding the EuroLeague?..

EuroLeague has some interesting forwards.. for example, Shavon Shields.. is a 6'5" small forward with Olimpia Milano.. his contract expires after the coming season... There are others..

I started this post hoping folks would name these kinds of guys.

Rumors of Julian Champagnie not making the final 15 roster in Toronto. While he isn't the jumbo (6'9+") SF I'd love, hes certainly one to keep an eye on should he shake loose...

Kind of looks like Poku can shoot a little bit now. If he can shoot the 3 at a decent rate, I think he'd be a great fit in our starting lineup. I think he's got a lot of potential as a playmaker, he rebounds too.

I dont think Poku will be available anytime soon. At least not for what the Cavaliers have to offer.

I really hope we can at least make the second round of the playoffs, guys around the league see this is a fun, exciting and upcoming team and that FA SF option wants to come here as the "missing piece" to complete the starting lineup.

Robin Lopez spoke on this during media day, and it was very surprising. *PERHAPS* the Cavaliers aren't a free agent desert its been for as long as it's existed? I'll believe it when I see someone better than SpongeRob choose Cleveland, but it's more possible now than ever before.

I am skeptical we are going to get better just letting all our expiring walk and signing a big free agent.
