So I almost died last night

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I will say you KNOW if you have it. Mine was the pneumonia version and there’s no ‘I think I have it’…. Trust me, you know!! I hope you never get it. I’ve always been in shape and on top of my fitness…. This disease doesn’t care. It’s just surreal when the doctor said I was about an hour away from slipping into a coma or possible death…. Such an eye opener
Scary! I really think I had it in January 2020, which was before the shutdown and before they were doing any Covid testing. The ER was so full then that they were putting people in the Hallways.

I had shortness of breath and found myself struggling to breathe, even though my oxygen saturation levels were ok. I had a low grade fever, my heart rate spiked, and it felt like I just couldn’t catch my breath. They did a flu test that came back negative. My wife & I were both very sick for the next two weeks.

March of this year was more like a persistent sinus infection that stuck around for a month and wouldn’t go away. I was very fatigued and lost sense of smell & taste.

For anyone who "thinks" they've had covid, there is an easy way to prove or disprove it. Donate blood athrough the Red Cross and they automatically run antibody tests that you can view online. My nephew is convinced he had it in January 2020, even though he never left our rural Ohio county. I had a bad flu in March 2020 and thought I had possibly had it after a month of travel, but no. I wish you a full recovery, Pip, but feel too many people skip the vaccine because of a flubug they've had in the last twenty months.

Being discharged today…. Can’t wait

Had to pass oxygen levels testing. Couldn’t dip below 87…Operated around 92 during the entire test. So don’t need to take oxygen home…

It may be regional, but l don't think they are doing this anymore, at least they didn't for me a month ago.

You are right they stopped it.

I just saw this now and am glad you are ok @PIP

Thanks for sharing your story. It is really scary even you had been vaccinated and you are in top fitness shape. I always wonder if the BCG vaccine where many countries besides the US got it when you were a little kid has an effect to helping you. Did you had the delta variant? I still don’t understand how some people who get it are pretty much immune to it and those who are same age who have been vaccinated and are at almost death. I thought this virus would get weaker and weaker but it just keeps evolving and getting stronger or finding ways to kill.

There are so many people in Japan here who have gotten it but have very mild symptoms. And then there’s those few who are suffering.

Am a bit worried about my son who is 2 yrs old. I really hope this goes away soon. But am glad you are ok.
