So I almost died last night

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The people who choose not to get vaccinated are playing Russian Roulette. My sister is one of them, and she is in a wheelchair with underlying conditions.
Why the risk? Even if the supposed feared side effects were true, would you rather NOT be able to breathe and die on a ventilator? Doesn't make sense to me.

Good luck Pip, glad you got the vaccine. How much worse could it've been? Is your blood oxy up now?

You live in Jax? We live just south of there part of the year and I was just down there a few weeks ago.

Glad you got to the hospital in time. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

To anyone who has a COVID scare, ask for monoclonal antibodies. The treatment is currently free for anyone who qualifies.

Obviously prevention is the best medicine--vaccination, masks, and being aware of your surroundings (social distancing). But if you need treatment, not enough people realize that this very expensive treatment is currently free to those who need it.

I got Covid early on and the breathing part was really scary. Didn't get to the point PIP did and it went away fast, but I woke up one night and felt like i was drowning. I felt out of breath most of last year. Wind came back after the vaccine, which makes me feel really lucky.

My sister got Covid and she hasn't been able to taste anything properly for 8 months. Said stuff she can taste, tastes like rotting garbage. Pretty cruel disease.

I got the Pfizer shots back around April
My 22 year old son came down with Covid even though he's been vaccinated. I am not vaccinated and have not come down with it, but, then again, I think I had it in January 2020 and possibly, again, in March of this year. The first time I had shortness of breath (scary) and the second time I was fatigued for about a month and had a brief period where I lost my sense of taste. The newer strain seems to hit the younger population harder, for whatever reason. Anyways, I hope you feel better soon...

I will say you KNOW if you have it. Mine was the pneumonia version and there’s no ‘I think I have it’…. Trust me, you know!! I hope you never get it. I’ve always been in shape and on top of my fitness…. This disease doesn’t care. It’s just surreal when the doctor said I was about an hour away from slipping into a coma or possible death…. Such an eye opener

Glad you’re feeling better Pip. Get well soon man.

I don't think it's hitting the younger population harder, I think it's hitting everyone harder, except the vaccine helps those who had it, and the percent of people vaccinated goes up with age.

Yeah Ben. In fact, today I’ve been able to move around a little bit and catching my breath a bit better.

I got super lucky. Having Covid-pneumonia is an experience…One I never wanna go through again….

Clearly you are not allowed to sleep and recover, but you must post every hour on the hour till you leave the hospital.

I am only half joking, many of us are worried about you. 15+ years of being a major part of this community. Nothing but love and prayers at you friend.

I'm glad to hear you're improving. Did they give you the monoclonal antibodies?
