who is going to be the Lakers PG? Smush Parker???

I wouldnt have the slightest clue. They have no player with PG next to his name on the roster they dealt Chucky Atkins and failed to get another PG in return this summer. They are going to get manhandled if they don't get a serviceable one here soon. I think it's funny though maybe they can coax Pippen out of retirement to play some PG? :chuckles:

I believe they will be playing Aaron McKie at point guard. With Jackson employing the triangle system again, look for McKie to play a similar role to that of Ron Harper played with both Chicago and Los Angelas.

Karma is right (again)! Jackson said he wanted a tall PG to run the triangle, and they went out and got McKie (6'5" 209lbs)... It will be interesting to see how Phil does with this group. Certainly not working with the best talent.

wow, the lakers are not going to be very good with mckie as a starter, let alone the point position. i know the triangle doesnt need a true point guard, but you would hope that you could get someone better than mckie, hes way to old. look for this guy to get injured, and then even more trouble for the lakers.

i played 2k6 and they had mckie at point...thats all i know and if not him im guessing vujacic.

You guys are all wrong.....

Lamar Odom will be running the POINT-FORWARD much like my boy Scottie Pippen did with the bulls... Book It!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harper and Armstrong never ran a traditional PG

It was always Pippen.... Sometimes even Jordan did it..

Odom will be the PG..

I know what you are saying LePip, but you still call McKie, Harper and Armstrong the point guard despite the general playmaking being run through Odom. McKie too will share the ball handling duties up court with Kobe. A Bryant and McKie backcourt is solid defensively. Jackson will want to win games ugly as they lack many scoring options. Look for George to creep into the starting small forward to give them another defender and reasonable range shooter.

Also, Kobe has also brought the ball the ball up with the Lakers probably 30-35% of the time anyway.

It was also my understanding that McKie would be the starting PG, but apparently Smush Parker is still a possibility at this point. At least according to a story today.
The Lakers sure have slipped if Parker is being considered as the starting PG.

It is true that with the triangle offense and players like Bryant and Odom you might not need a more tradtional PG.

Well then sure.. You can just place the Moniker of PG next to MCKIE'S NAME in the Box Scores.. But if we're going to talk about who will play that spot for them on the court.. It will be L.O

Mckie (if healthy) will get minutes there as well, just not the majority
