Spring Training Game 1 v. Cincinnati Reds 3:05pm Eastern

Pries isnt gonna block anybody from anything.

He is a warm body filler.
I can see him finding mild success at some point like Schneeman, but it won't be in Cleveland and if it is then many things went terribly wrong.

It's from another Board, but reliable poster and yes, could be anything, from (maybe even protective) gear to a certain exercise etc.

Fact remains he hasn't appeared in a game yet after missing a good chunk of last season, so if he was full go, we'd have seen him already, so something's up.
Probably his cup. Ever try stealing a base with one of those things on? All kidding aside, I hope like hell he is and can stay healthy. We need Chase DeLauter ASAP.

Second hand (but reliable) info from someone down in ST overheard DeLauter say to a trainer that "it hurts" when running harder, but jogging apparently was no problem. Best guess "it" is his foot.

Maybe a DH only the way this is going....
Sorry, but I just don't buy this. The Gs never cover up any injuries.

I agree with this one... I feel like he will eventually get a chance to get a MLB job, but it shouldn't be in Cleveland unless injuries happen...

I just have him listed above the depth chart over Kayfus right now since Kayfus doesn't have the ABs like Cleveland wants... (Kayfus has the upside, but not the experience, while Pries is the experience not the upside, plus he's a better athlete)

But come 26... I feel like Pries will be elsewhere...

He looks like a decent placeholder to me, but he might surprise a little bit and turn into a solid ML player. I'm not betting my check on it, but it could happen.

Remember, for McK, there are several reasons that he could have been off yesterday
1) Working on more offspeed pitches (relied on low middle fastball first outting and did alright) - but with offspeed breaking down does he really want FB up to tunnel?
2) Tried to bring the middle pitches that Cruz belted, more to the inside/outside edges(working more on 3rd base edge yesterday)
3) Was thrown off by coming in as relief (even though clean inning, it is different timing)
4) As he threw 91 mph last year most of season, he got into bad habits on spotting the ball for strikes. Now that he is up to 94-95, his timing/release points are changing and needs time to figure it out to locate things with different mechanical timing.

Even Hammy needs spring training.....

That ball is HAMMERED...a no doubter....CAUGHT by Noel at the fence.

Or else he was doing his best Herb Score imitation.

Lively goes a solid three shut out innings.

1 H...3Ks...1BB...47 pitches.

Worked from behind a lot.

JRod doubles the opposite way.

Rocchio had a good 8 pitch at bat for a walk.

Bo's struggles continue with a one pitch grounder to the mound.

Kwan, of course, is Kwan.

What was he working on today? Returning to form from last year? Lol

Yea, zero chance he’s not in the starting rotation to start the year and maybe most of the year if he’s healthy.

Listening, they said he was upstairs early but needs to live downstairs.
