She liked them. We only planned to watch 1 but she kept wanting to watch the next one. It was 3am when we were done. Voyage home is my favorite. I’ve been waiting all summer to tell her about transparent aluminum.

And a symbol of female liberation.
Most of the women in TOS were not much more than eye candy because their roles were pretty limited. I suspect that’s the real issue.

Oddly enough one of the most interesting female guest roles was fully clothed - Jill Ireland. Then again Charles Bronson was on the set so nobody wanted to piss him off by having Jill show too much skin.

Certainly true, but again that was because it's a 60s series. At the same time, the one on the most, Uhura, was groundbreaking in the 60s.

One of Kirk’s women was Edith Keeler played by Joan Collins. Both of their careers went south in the 70s but Captain Kirk came back and Joan hit it big with Dynasty in the 80s.

So I was skeptical going into Picard Season 3.

First season sucked, second season sucked after the first couple episodes.

We are no halfway through Season 3 and I must say I am impressed and rather like it. So far they are handling the legacy characters and plots wonderfully. It has everything and will warm the hearts of fans of DS9 and Voyager.

Episode 5 in particular handles a lingering thread from Next Gen very well.

I must say the MVPs of this season have easily been Jonathan Frakes on both sides of the camera and Michael Dorn portraying Worf perfectly. Riker has truly come into his own and Worf is finally comfortable in his own skin, and with being different from other Klingons.

TV shows have a hard time handling characters as they age and change, but Riker and Worf are well done 20 years on.

The new character, Captain Shaw, is the perfect representation of a real field grade officer as we have seen on Star Trek in a while. @The Human Q-Tip.

Completely agree. I just wish they had more episodes on this arc so they could tell a more advanced story. Always loved the dominion and ds9

I haven’t watched anything after most of the first season of Discovery. I also never saw Nemesis so I might have to watch that and then try Picard.

You guys finally convinced me to start DS9...and its now just on Paramount. Dammit.

@Sebastian @2 For The Brew
The first two seasons are a little rough.

There are about 5 essential episodes in Season 1 and about 5-7 in Season 2.

From the last episode of Season 2 on to the end of the series, just about every episode is at the very least watchable with the exception of a few.

And after Season 3 starts one has to start watching it in a serial fashion because that is when the series became very episodic.

I will say that of all the pilot episodes of the Star Trek series, DS9's "Emissary," is by far the best and stands on its own as a great two-parter.

Edit: Every Garak episode is a must see.

My fave episode of Star Trek is Next Generation when Beverly Crusher inherits her Grandma's Sex ghost.

One of the best fan submitted scripts
All the episodes centered on Troi or Crusher are great.

They involve them either wanting to quit Starfleet, immediately, to be with some space dude they met two days ago, or Troi getting mind raped repeatedly.

As far as dudes worth leaving your career for, hot Bajoran First Minister Scottish Space Ghost with 8 inch vibrating energy dick is as good as it gets.

I'm not going to watch Picard, not after the first two seasons of nonsense. I love Q so much and he was wasted in Season 2.

Ok maybe I'll watch it, I just want them to send the cast out on a high note. Also since I saw above that DS9 gets some references? It's about damn time they revisit the GOAT Trek.
