If the question is who should bat leadoff for the Cleveland Guardians, the answer is undoubtedly Steven Kwan. If you have someone else in mind/disagree, please share it.

But our #2 hitter... That gets more interesting... I think it should be Andres Gimenez most days, but if Amed is there against lefties, that works too. What do you fellas think?

In 2022 JRam had more RBIs than in any year of his career, in spite of being intentionally walked more often than he ever had before.

He had the most opportunities to come to the plate with RISP and to come to the plate with runners on.

It ain't broke, and having Gimenez bat lower stretches our lineup.

a pretty poor argument can be made to change the batting order to accommodate L / R splits for Amed.. He's pretty good against both RHP's and LHP's.. The only real difference may be his power numbers..

Disagree, Amed kind of stinks against righties and excels against lefties - Career splits:
Against RHP - 264/296/379/675
Against LHP - 302/342/473/815

Didn't Amed hit into a lot of DP's? He's not so good against RHP either so I'm thinking either Gimenez or Brennan against RHP.

It would be shocking if this wasn't Amed's last season as a Guardian IMO. That plus his noticeable splits, poor OBP and hit first profile, he needs to bat lower in the order. Give him the opportunity to drive in runs, not get on base for JRam.

I suspect Ramirez or Rosario (PA for extra infielders are going to be slim). Might as well kill two birds with one stone.

As for two hole I’d put Ramirez there and move the order into the 21st century. It’s not going to happen: Kwan, Ramirez, Gimenez, Bell, Gonzalez, Naylor, Rosario, ….
