wow what a huge blow for the suns. we were thinking how bad AV's injury was, but losing AV is nothing compared to this. thats the suns go to guy and they are going to suffer big time because of it, espically now that thye dont have joe johnson on their team.

ohh man, that sucks for him, kinda the same thing that happened to Vince Carter a few years back. All that jumping, that takes a toll on your knee...

Dang..one of my top 5 favorite players, bad break for the Suns lost like 18 ppg in JJ and lost a lot in Q-Rich. I see them being the 03-04 Suns till he gets back for a while...what a loss.

That is huge. Suns are in a tough spot. Losing Amare last year would have been less drastic because they had guys to fall back on. You can't fall back on Grant or Thomas. Too bad, because I love watching Amare play.

Wonder if he'll turn into the next Antonio McDyess...

Microfacture is a major surgery. I'd be surprised if Amare is back in only 4 months.

This does set the Suns back. Hopefully the Cavs don't suffer any major injuries this year since this Amare injury shows how it can take only 1 injury to totally change a season.

anddddd back to the lottery for the Suns.

Well, lets see. They have:

Steve Nash - Probably best PG in the league, but he needs to pass to somebody.

Shawn Marion - Athletic freak, can score and rebound.

Kurt Thomas - A less athletic, less productive Marion.

Eddie House, Howard Eisley, Raja Bell, Leandrinho Barbosa - PGs that all do the same thing.

James Jones, Jim Jackson - Two JJ's that aren't nearly good as the other JJ

Brian Grant - Decent defender, not much offense...not a good fill in for Amare

They look like they are in trouble. No inside presense. Better defending team, but hardly any offensive production. They have like 5 pgs, 5 sfs, and 3 pfs...yuck.

4 months is a little on the low end, but Amare is a freak of nature. Usually, a surgery like that (remember Courtney Brown?) takes 6-8 months. He's gone until February at least. Too bad for both him and the Suns. i never like to see anyone get hurt.

However, I took a look at the schedule and we play Phoenix two times in January, so it looks like we get them both times without their guy. I ain't gonna complain about that.

I look at it as a better oppurtunity to beat the Suns, we may play them twice in those 4 months and we could easily get W's with them not having any real scoring threats outside of Marion. Also 1 less person for LeBron to worry about in the MVP race. Also look if Phoenix does go to the lottery they would have 2 lottery picks, their own and one from the Joe Johnson trade. And they have another lottery pick from the Hawks the year after, so while this may be a set back this could be a way for them to retool.

I think those picks from Atlanta are lottery protected. So they won't be getting them for the next decade.

it sucks because he litterally hurt himself right after he signed that extension. he is also supposed to have a signature shoe from nike this year.

Wow Phoenix is dumb then because Boris Diaw sucks, if your trading JJ you don't come back without J-Smoove or Childress, they can afford it they have like 5 lottery small forwards from the last 3 years anyway. They are now saying the best case scenario is 4 months. I wouln't be surprised to see a set back and have him miss the whole year which won't be so bad. He is a young kid and you don't want to rush an injury this severe.

Memories of David Robinson going down and San Antonio throwing the season away to secure Tim Duncan are flooding back.
