If the 2011 season is locked out, how is the 2012 draft handled? Is their a new lottery with the same teams?
Chad Ford**(1:52 PM)

No one knows. They'll have to negotiate that with the players union.

thank you. the speculation of the 5 year history came from the last time the NHL went on strike. it wasnt that someone actually thought it was going to happen.

that said they coudl go dozens of different ways for the draft from keeping the order the same, to taking a 5 year average, to doing it randomly, to alphabetically by last letter, all sorts of stuff. hell what no one is talking about is actually redoing how they set up the draft lottery, another thing that could change in the CBA.

Damn. I need to find the source where I read the Cavs would be assured of another top 4 pick as it can only be based on last year's/current year's record. The Cavs are top 4 in this draft. If lockout, top 4 for next draft as well if the entire season is locked out. It only makes sense.

One thing I am sure of though, Sullinger and Irving, etc will have NO idea if there is going to be a lockout for next year. They won't know for sure until AFTER they declare and enter and then have the draft. The question is this; will they take that risk and enter the draft anyway? I'm not so sure. I don't think they do. If they do, they risk NOT playing, and they risk not being paid either.

Lockout or no lockout, the Cavs are probably going to be in the top-4 of the draft next year anyway, which wouldn't be a bad thing. Let's get Kyrie Irving and Austin Rivers on this team and cement the backcourt for the next 10-12 years.

Some like the Johnson kid over Sullinger. Well, Johnson pretty much lost Purdue the game to Wisconsin last night with his long brick shot off the board, and on the next position, his little push in the back while trying to get an offensive rebound. Those two plays cost them 4 points in the last minute or so of the game. Nice job. I'll take Sullinger.

Who the fuck likes Johnson over Sully? lulz.
