Terrance Mitchell to Texans 2 yrs 7.5M

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Bring me Ward!! :chuckle:
Some people will try to make this an OSU meme, but he's the best outside corner in this class and a worthy top 5, top 10 pick. If we don't sign Gaines, Ward makes a ton of sense. I love Minkah but FS is taken and BBC is actually pretty solid at the inside corner position. Ward fills a bigger need.

Gut says we take Chubb if he's available. Or Nelson if Thomas retires. If neither of those happen...

Dream scenerio is we trade with Buffalo and because of a run on QB's, Ward is still there at 12.
I don't view this as a realistic possibility. If we trade down to 12 we should be assuming Ward will be off the board.

If you for sure want Ward, the furthest you can trade down is probably 6, and that's assuming the Jets are still interested in trading up for a QB.

You trade down because there are multiple players you like and the extra 1st round pick. You are surprised to find Ward still there and you take him without even thinking.

The players available at 12 aren't going to be in Ward's tier as a prospect. You're past the elite at that point in this draft (as is the case in most drafts).

We trade down to 12, we are almost certainly missing out on taking an elite player, yet again.

Which is why I'm not an advocate of doing so. I understand the value argument. I just don't want to miss out on a top player yet again and settle for lower tier prospects, even if they still end up being decent players.

We are going to trade down then trade back up to get our CB. It's all too obvious.

51% chance of a player working out in top half of 1st round, 49% in 2nd half.

You are almost doubling your chances, its the right move.

I think we can pretty much tell that 'real football players' is synonymous with 'guys I picked up while in KC'. Who knows, guess we see.

That's...an interesting idea...

I think we want Ward so it really depends on how the draft shakes out. I can't pretend to know if he's worth the #4 pick, since I don't follow closely or know what I am looking at. I want Minkah b/c of his interviews - it sounds like he really has the mentality to continue to get better and be a locker room leader. However, if we're there at 4 with these potential QB's on the board, it could be a king's ransom situation, so take it, get 2 firsts this year and a 3rd next year, and give up a 3rd this year. Bonus if we can pull a Houston where the team that gets their FQB at 4 ends up sucking.

There is a chance Ward is there. He is a stud but his size hurts him a little. Lattimore fell to 11 but that was because of hamstrings.

Any tackle is going to be there.

Yeah, I guess it helps when you actually make a good pick after trading down.

Browns haven't done that in forever.

That is the problem. We have been on the wrong side of the 50% crap shoot way to often, but that doesnt move the odds for this front office.

If its there, trade back, see who falls.
