Honestly, I don't think the Thanks is really important at all since we have rep and thats worked out pretty well for the months that I've been here and I haven't heard any complaints from the guys with 7k+ posts either.

Plus when someone gets thanked it adds a bunch of nothingness space, which gets old looking at.

Just my 2 cents though.

I'm with crazedcav and Style on this whole issue... I'm not sure this really adds anything more to the site or makes it better... It just seems like these things are handed out way too easily....

Can we just merge this with rep? Seems kind of redundant to have both a thanks and a rep feature. Thanks will probably just water down the users who use rep.

It's a quicker way to rep. You are giving someone rep points when you thank them, you just don't have to comment.

I'm liking the thanks. A more time efficient rep.

Now one thing that we could do is reduce the space the thanks takes up once you thank someone.

The Following User Says Karma (Today)
Thank You to Smooth32

Remove Your Thanks

Makes the post a heap longer. Can we reduce it to 1 line. Say "the following user say thanks : " Done.

I'm sure someone else brought this up also I think.

Glen?

I agree it needs to be somewhat smaller.... No need to take up a 1/4 of the post...

As of now, there is no way to reduce the size of the thanked area. I'm looking into it and hopefully I can find a solution for it soon.

I hear they put a limit of 5 thanks/day (24 hrs). Or something like that?...

The thanks button will be limited to 5 a day until things settle down around here after the trade deadline.
