The 2013 Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Really surprised they kept Burke out that long. I understand he had the 2 fouls and Spike had it going, but you have to trust your star player in these kinds of games. This is the National Championship game, let the kid play.

The dunk by Montrezl Harrell toward the end of the half was fucking awesome.

Louisville got away with murder that entire game.

Blatant goaltend by Dieng early in the game.
Blatant phantom foul on Hancock 3pt attempt in the corner. (this was the 2nd foul on Burke, too)
Hancock takes out Morgan's legs mid-air, foul assigned to Dieng. Hancock goes on to play with what should be 5 fouls late in the game and makes several key plays.
Burke's absolutely clean block on Siva's dunk attempt.
Blatant over the back on Behanan, forcing Michigan player out of bounds.

Just a piss poor way to determine what was an otherwise outstanding game.

Louisville has been getting away with murder all year. They're one of the worst championship teams in recent memory. That is all.

Lol? What?

I saw an unbelievable amount of calls just the other way too. Officiating was absolutely awful.

Louisville was the better team out there.

Tom Crean is definitely my favorite college coach. Classy guy, family guy and just a stand-up dude together. He's a true steward for the game and one of those guys who makes college basketball great. A real sports-man and a man's man.

Love IU. Love Tom Crean.

Just saw this.

Class act all the way around, especially when he told his players at Marquette he wasn't leaving and they found out during his press conference with Indiana.

Anyway, hats off to Louisville. Anytime I get to see dejected Michigan fans, I sport a chub.

Also, great game.

Officiating was pretty awful all the way around, but Michigan had their chances. Seemed to me Michigan was in the bonus most of thesecond half. Louisville had more contributions which led to the win. Behanan was an absolute monster, Dieng did work on both ends, Siva was a beast and got robbed out of MOP, Hancock made a big difference, Russ Smith played really well in the second half and Pitino out coached Belein.

Give Louisville their due, they played a great game and deserved to win.

Of course there were bad calls both ways, but the balance wasn't even close. Especially major, game changing calls that repeatedly went against Michigan.

Burke's block on Siva was the play of the game, but nope, 2 points for Louisville.

The teams looked pretty even to me outside of the bullshit refereeing. The officiating for the whole tournament was absolutely piss poor.

Seemed like every huge call (and non call) went against Michigan.

The ones that really stood out were:

Hancock's non 4th foul (which was clearly on him). 30 seconds later it led to him drawing the 4th on McGary. He left with 9:00 left and Michigan down 2. He didn't re-enter until the 4:30 mark with Michigan down 7 and on the ropes. UL had absolutely NO perimeter depth and would have had to play a walk on for 5+ minutes. Instead, Michigan's best big had to sit during the most crucial stretch of the game.

Burke's block that was called a foul. Michigan was down 3 at that point. That call was the start of a 6-1 UL run that put them out in front for good.

Behanan getting tied up, then traveling, then somehow making a miraculous shot in which he didn't even look at the rim. The tie-up and travel both give the ball to UM, down 6 with 2:00 left. Instead UL goes up 8.

LeVert getting pushed out of bounds because Behanan was mauling Burke inside. Michigan should have been on the FT line down 4, with :50 left.

That's not even mentioning the atrocious second foul on Burke. Michigan ultimately played to even in the 1st half but Burke was unstoppable in this game. He only played 25 minutes because of that miserable call.

People are saying it was bad both ways but honestly, what is even one call that UL got that even approaches any of the calls above?

Was a great game but unfortunate the officials had to have so much influence.

If two points in a six point game with five minutes left was the difference in the game, then Michigan wasn't even with Louisville in the first place.

It was a blown call, pretending it made the difference in the game is whining.

I picked Louisville in my bracket, and Meechigan lost, so I'm happy. Officiating was bad but not a worthy excuse. Louisville was clearly better. Siva outplayed Burke, to the surprise of many, but not me.

They'll both make decent backup PG's in the NBA.

It's a good thing I didn't point out all the other horrible calls.

oh wait

Those calls were horrible but to me Louisville had more guys step up, they made more effort plays and seemed to want it more. The bad calls were unfortunate but I don't think they decided the game. Trey Burke sat too long in the first half, if his coach doesn't over react to foul trouble maybe the outcome would have been different. Anytime you're trying to ride Skip Albrecht to a national championship win, then you probably deserve to lose.
