The 2020 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think he broke the toe on 07/22. I read they fit him with some orthotics but he was still in too much discomfort so to the IL he went. Fractures are typically a 4-6 week thing and he's been gone just about 3 weeks. I read a Hoynes article that said they are thinking he could be back any day now. Perez to follow within a couple of days after that.
Last I heard (5-6 days ago) he had started to run...nothing really substantive after that

Bowing down to Tito is the wrong way to put it.

Fitting in to the culture that has been built by Antonetti, Chernoff, and Tito..and given the stamp of approval by the guy that signs the checks..is far more accurate. (Although it didn't begin with the present triumvirate.)

Throwing a ball over the fence is not nearly as disrespectful as knowingly endangering somebody's life.

Bauer could instantly feel remorse for what he did...and everybody that watched his immediate reaction saw that he did. But the action hastened his departure.

Remorse for getting caught is a far different thing...and making a planned and knowingly dangerous departure from the paradigms of the organizational culture is far different from a fit of pique. It will hasten Clevs departure, also.

Those that emigrated from the 247 forum know that in early December of 2018 I outlined the basis for a trade between the Tribe and Padres that involved Bauer. Reyes, a MLB ready top 100 LH prospect, plus at least two other mid level prospects.

There was a reason I said that, and it had nothing to do with tea leaves or tarot cards, nor did I pull Reyes name out of a hat.
That trade in some form could have been made much earlier. It just needed a trigger. Bauer provided it.

Yes, he was a “flaming douche.”
He was particularly bothersome to the long winded posters.

Clev and Plesac to the Restricted list. Tyler Naquin and Logan Allen to the 28 man roster. Welcome back Nake. Come back and rake.

In all likelihood, the decision was made in order to add a pair of fresh bodies to the roster while Plesac and Clevinger are tested daily for Covid-19 — rather than as a punitive measure. The organization can reinstate the pair whenever it sees fit, so long as both have tested negative at least twice (separated by a span of 24 hours).

It’s not yet clear to what extent (if any) the club will discipline the pair, although the team’s higher-ups can’t be pleased with them. That’s particularly true of Clevinger, who didn’t speak up even after Plesac was disciplined and reportedly took a flight with teammates after having been out. The Athletic’s Zack Meisel tweets that president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti declined to reveal whether Plesac and Clevinger would be subject to some form of discipline.

Bolded is code for - we hope in three days when they can be activated, all the press scrutiny will be blown over, and we can get back to business as normal, while not having to say that we are not going to take any punitive measures.

They still get paid and get service time while on the restricted list. So they don't loose much. Except respect.
Here's my long term prediction: Next seasons opening day pitcher won't be Clevinger. He won't even be on the roster.

A package of Lindor and Clevinger??. Odds are they deal them separately, but who knows.

What punitive measures would you suggest?...And/or, what action would you like to see Antonetti take?

How much longer can the Indians trot out two catchers hitting below .100?
