...
Cimber had a 1.80 ERA before two bad outings against the Royals and has not pitched in 12 days. Alomar apparently has lost confidence in him.
....
Kinda hard of Alomar (or any manager/ coach) to play a person not on the team. Cimber was sent out to the alternate site earlier in September..

On another point, yes the struggles of Maton recently are concerning but I think it would be interesting to see/ review a breakdown of his performances this season & see who was catching him in those instances.. I recall hearing in at least 1 of the recent performances Maton was shaking off the pitch call from catcher. I am curious if there is a tendency flaw or issue stemming from game calling/ Maton being on same page..

JRam is now tied for 4th in the MLB in WAR via FG. He is carrying this team offensively. He's nearly 1 full win better than the next closest position player (Lindor).
Updated this morning to third behind Freeman and Tatis Jr. by a tenth.

If Santana goes 3-for-28 over these last seven games do we really go into the playoffs with him hitting cleanup? And what if Franmil starts hitting while Santana continues to flail away?

They moved Lindor from #3 to leadoff and it's helping. The easiest thing is to do nothing, but that's not always the right answer.

If we move Santana who takes his place? It's not like we have anyone else right now who has been a consistent hitter. So even if we wanted to mix things up, its not like we really have much of a choice. I think the lineup ends up the same as it is now.

Don't know how easy it is to extrapolate, but Carlos Santana has to be the worst cleanup hitter in baseball right now and possibly noteworthy in a historical sense.

Sad to say I agree on this.

This is 12+ years old... I think Carlos is "worthy" of this list... Hopefully he catches fire to close out the season..
