Houston, you're lucky we're allowing you to play this year.
Living in AZ, I cant imagine how they are going to deal with the heat in the middle of the day. Then when august hits if they are still playing here its monsoon season so rainy, humid and 100-115 heat every day?
A shortened season would be great. Players will probably love it and start requesting that the MLB consider doing it again.
162 is an asinine amount of games.
They will be sold on more time with friends and family. They ain't gonna like the paycheck though lol.
I just don't see a season happening, and despite my desire to see baseball games, I'm not sure if the risk is worth it.
Terry Francona is 60 and has had quite a few health issues. Is it worth potentially risking his life?
Players would almost certainly have to be quarantined from their families for 4 months (I can't see them including families in the quarantine). Are they going to sign up for that? Should we expect them to?
And what about the people who would need to be part of gameday production - with possible age/underlying risk factors. And being away from their families too. Is it all worth it?
They ain't gonna like the paycheck though lol.
I'd be shocked if the owners ever agreed to fewer games in a standard season. The only way it works is if the players association agrees to less money for the players, which I don't believe will happen.
