The 2020 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

The greatest blooper of all time because you couldn't do it again even if you tried. I've never even seen a ball go off the head of an MLB player period. To actually be close enough to the wall, have it hit at the perfect angle to ricochet over...way more than a one in a million shot.

It never gets old watching it, either.

Jose's day from a couple of years ago might not have been hit on the head for a home run weird, it was still insanely lucky and he had two HR's that were basically caused by the other team...

MLB vault is just full of a depressing Tribe moments. Not one game worth watching.

Always loved 1995 Game 6 against the Mariners. Incredibly tight game, then Lofton breaks the Mariner's hearts and Randy Johnson's will by scoring from 2nd on that passed ball.

No, you are a vault full of depressing Tribe moments.

JK just seemed like a good sick burn didn't want it to go to waste

That's always been my favorite play in baseball history, until Rajai took the mantle in 2016.

The stuff about how Johnson held a grudge and threw at Lofton for a decade afterwards is just icing on the cake.

My favorite Tribe trivia fact is Ruben Amaro was the guy who scored before Lofton on the play.

That play just encapsulated perfectly that season. You could never let up against that Tribe team, because they were absolutely relentless. One mistake, and they would blast a game wide open. That particularly series was a hard fought as it gets, but you could see the Mariners deflate completely after that play because they knew they had just given away their season.

If Kipnis wasn't invoking that Cleveland memory of Lofton during his dash in Game 7 of the 2016 WS, I have no idea what people were thinking....

So all of us talk about how awesome that game 6 was in the 95 ALCS, from the otherside it was one of the most heartbreaking moments in Seattle sports history (until in the interception in the superb owl).

My wife doesnt talk sports much, however we were listenign to music the other day and a Macklemore song titled "my, oh, my" came on (which is partially about the 95 Ms team) and she opened up a bit. That 95 team for the mariners was supposed to be the team that actually made it to the world series (reminder the mariners to this day still have never made the world series) it featured some absolutely amazing players to include griffey and johnson. She told me during after hour school programs they would turn the games on for all the kids to watch/listen to and that EVERYONE was attached to the team. During game 5 against the yankees in the ALDS, there was a school play and the kids huddled around a radio listening between the different scenes (she was 10 at the time). She said that it was by far and away the most she ever saw a sports team bring together that city (she moved away in 04).

So while I consider it one of the the best cleveland sports memories, Seattle fans have a slightly different view.

Then 6 years later there was "The Comeback". Man M's fans must hate cleveland.

The middle of that Seattle lineup was incredible. Griffey, Edgar Martinez, and Jay Buehner. Martinez's OPS that year was an insane 1.107. Tino Martinez also had a great year. Their lineup wasn't as good top to bottom as the Tribe's, though.

95 M's were loaded. Buhner, Tino Martinez, Edgar Martinez, Griffery, Mike Blowers, Randy Johnson, and quite a bit of depth.

That 95 indians team was stacked on offense. 3 guys with an OPS above .950 and another 4 guys with an OPS between .800-.900.

Best offense in the league, and best/2nd best pitching in the league (depending on how you rank NL versus AL). That team was made to win it all. Fucking braves

That tribe lineup was one for the ages, but pitching wins, and that Braves staff was truly built to win with 3 HOFers in the starting rotation. The Tribe rotation was composed from the 1987 All Star game. They got pinched in the last game with Glavine but the umps didn't win 4 games for the Braves. And the ump didn't throw David Justice a big fat meatball. Got to give those Braves credit, they were the LBJ of 90s baseball, bizarre that they only won 1 title with that talent.
