The 2020 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Short season and lockdowns favor guys like Plesac and Clev.

Less time for their bodies to wear down in a 60 game season where nightlife is a NO NO.

You may not have read the post or remember, but I am the one that said Plesac was the best arm on the team. So if you think I am dissing him .... people are who they are. I'm a nerd that loves to study pitching, far more enjoyable than a bar to me. Not everyone's cup of tea. Plesac is a big time partier - just a fact that seemed related to him breaking Q.
Just curious, why do you think he has the best arm on the team?

Is there any chance that Plesac likes to party but also studies pitching? If he and Clev are tight, and Clev got a healthy dose of Bauer....

I kinda think that apology is bullshit. It's boilerplate, and framing it simply as "leaving the hotel" while using the hypothetical "could have endangered other people" shows a lack of remorse.

I mean, he's a young guy. Nobody likes getting caught, punished and scolded. Hope he learns--but I know a disingenuous apology when I see it. Those are the words of someone who feels bad he got caught.

It's called toeing the company line. And I agree, and he shouldn't feel any remorse.

Great. What a couple of knuckleheads. One thing that never occurred to me when arguing for a Plutko trade was a couple of our more immature starters blowing off the COVID protocol when there are teams like the Cardinals that have only played five games.

Clevinger is a veteran. He should know better.

The only good thing is that this happened now instead of in the playoffs or when we were about to play the Twins.

Really disappointing for Clevinger being that he's supposed to be a leader on this team. Makes me concerned for the rest of the league- we saw how quickly it spread among the Cards and Marlins. Surely these two aren't the only ones to have selfishly snuck out to the bars across the entire MLB and we're what, 2-3 weeks into the season?

I dont at all believe q was saying that. Im pretty sure Q was calling him out for a half assed apology because it reads like he wasn't sorry at all.

If i was on this team i would absolutely light up any player that violates team rules of isolating. Its a team sport, get with the fucking team.

What is it with our starting pitchers? A guy cuts open his hand on a drone during the playoffs. Another comes down with leukemia. Another gets his arm broken by a line drive. Two more go out and party in violation of league rules after seeing entire teams shut down for a week or more after the virus got into the locker room. Between bad luck and really poor judgment its amazing we have as strong a rotation as we do.

I assume these guys will be docked their pay for the games they miss due to their actions.

He parties hard, fast friends with Clev.

I suspect they had their eyes on both of them
Good call.
Unfortunately, I’m beginning to wonder if we see a game or two cancelled, Tues/Wednesday, to ensure no Indians players have COVID-19 and make sure that there is no risk of passing it to any of the Cubs players

I agree with Rafters assessment of his apology. I disagree with anybody feeling remorse for living their lives as they see fit, rules aside.

Report - aka comment on another thread - there are potentially 2 more players involved. If it turns out to be 4 total - postponements are a lock. If not, unless there are some positive tests from their teammates, game is on and Plutko steps in..

Kudos to the FO for a hard line stance.

Complete idiocy.

If they don’t feel legitimate and deep regret then I’ve lost all respect I had for either one of them.

Even if they can’t see the wider repercussions of their actions... As @NorthCoastBias said, they could have exposed Carrasco.

Just a total lack of regard for somebody who sits right next to you every day.

Clevinger is the worse of the two, because he didn't own up when Plesac was caught...and he risked everybodys health buy hanging around the team afterwards.

Not only has everybodys health been compromised, but so has the teams competitive advantage.

If I was Dolan and the FO, Id be investigating the unprecedented return that could be reaped by trading both of them.

Seriously.

This goes far beyond drug use and the type of thing Albert Belle used to do. It goes way beyond baseball, itself.
