The Athletic had this on Franmil...

Entering Sunday’s series finale against Detroit, Reyes’ average exit velocity was 97.0 mph. His hard-hit rate was 65 percent. Both rank among the league’s elite. It’s reflected in his results; through 32 plate appearances, Reyes has a .333/.375/.800 slash line.

“It’s totally different now, how I see the ball travel more,” Reyes said, “and recognize what is hanging, what is away, what is in. It’s unbelievable. It’s a good feeling.”

If Reyes is really seeing the ball better than he ever has (and the early results bear this out) he could have a Travis Hafner in his prime type of season.

Joe Morgan talked about a conversation with Hank Aaron he had during an all star game and how Hank saw the ball and spin. He said thats when i knew I would never be as good as Hank because he never saw the spin of the ball like he described.

Not saying Franmil is Hank Aaron, a top 5 of all time player, just thought it was a funny antidote.

Don't care about batting average at all really.

Would love if Franmil can turn into a consistent .880+ OPS guy. That's Stanton, Freeman, Goldschmidt-level offensive production. If he can hit that mantle, that's a huge win for us.

Are you saying he can be as good as Mickey Mantle?

If he continues his 2021 efforts, Reyes is on pace to catch Hank's home run total in just 1550 more games!

Suck it Hank!

Spin on the ball is the disease and Franmil's the cure?

Positive nugget for you all after a weird L.

Daniel Johnson is playing the majority of CF over Mercado (mostly in LF) and Zimmer (mostly in RF) at the alt-site.

Cantillo is going to be a helium prospect. Making MLB level hitters look bad.

Owen Miller continues to hit the shit out of the ball.

Saw that, just went in.

Think the most interesting thing I've heard (getting 2nd hand info since I am not there) is they are experimenting with Arias at a bunch of positions and he looks comfortable everywhere. Will be interesting to see if that continues into the minors season.

Looks like Jones is playing 3rd and 1B...any room for him for OF reps? ...seems pretty crowded out there!

I really see him as the 3B of the future if he gets his bat going consistently. That arm, those instincts.

As for Cantillo mentioned earlier, and Owen Miller, as well as all the others...I'm just so happy we have a special open line dedicated to AJ Preller. It's a one-stop shop.

His numbers aren't any good at 3B... Look at his metrics, I was better in high school than he has been so far (no offense, look at the numbers)
