So my point is pretty much proven on this replay.Dude, yes, 100% OBJ has him beat right now. Harris' hips are facing the wrong direction and he's slightly unbalanced. OBJ, on the other hand, just came out of his inside feign move and is accelerating straight down the sideline.
He's not "throw it at the 25 yard line open", but if that ball is thrown at the pylon, Beckham is going to come down with it
Again though, it's a risky ball to throw IMO when you only need 4 yards
He’s not the guy. Very low ceiling.
What exactly about my response invoked a keyboard warrior response from you?
if you think height is the reason Baker Mayfield has been struggling honestly it’s not worth even discussing because we are never going to agree. I’ll PM you my address so we can fist fight
I'm not sure what has changed with Baker but his eyes are just moving really slow this year. Last year, he had really crisp, quick head movements and decisively made throws in situations like this. He's been a tick slow all year and I really don't understand why this hasn't been corrected by the staff.
1) that guy needs his ears adjusted

Beckham was 1000% open. With that said, that's a risky throw to take on 4th and 4. With the way Baker is playing right now, I don't have much confidence in him placing that ball where it needs to be....But OBJ is the type of player who can make something out of a less than perfectly placed ball...
So my point is pretty much proven on this replay.
1)OBJ has a guy all over him
2)OBJ gets his guy to bite
3) at this point Baker is already looking over the middle (because you know thats where he is supposed to go with the ball)
4) OBJ raises his hand because he has his man beat
5)OBJ drops his hand immediately, because he realizes the pass has already been made.
So like i said, yes OBJ beat his man, but it was too late. Furthermore as i have said, everyone on this god damn board would have grilled baker if he throws to OBJ and that pass isnt completed. You are asking Baker to make a damn precise/almost perfect pass 20 yards down field, against a damn good CB, versus going for Landry who is 5 yards down field.
Let be clear Baker screwed up. But it was because he didnt throw the ball sooner to Landry, not because he didnt hold the ball for a second longer and try to get it to OBJ
Point of analysis on all plays like this is where does the ball go if it is Mahomes, Rodgers, Brees, Brady, etc........
That ball is going to OBJ, if he has his man on his hip off the line. I don't even think it is a conversation.
There is no DB in the league who can flip his hips, with a cushioned erased off the LOS and run him down before he can get to a well thrown ball. None.
Anyone who has played QB has probably heard the phrase "Even is open"......when you are talking about a capable receiver, who is running a vertical concept. If your initial look is OBJ, on a vertical concept and he has collapsed the DB's space off the line, he is most definitely open. The ball just has to go to him.
the CB's hips are already flipped. that happened right around the first down marker. Which means at this point its a foot race, and the two of them are equal. thats not open. Could OBJ still make a play on the ball absolutely. But at this point in time its completely on Baker to put the ball where only OBJ can get it. Which is going to be 15-20 yards down field.
So once again its 4th and 4. Does it make the most sense to force a ball to OBJ 15 yards down field, who is in a foot race, and which will require a perfect/damn good ball. Or to throw it 5 yards down the field to the open WR.
Baker made the correct choice. there is no fucking disputing that. The issue is that Baker threw it late.
Edit: and let me be clear, its obvious OBJ ends up beating his man. The issue is that this entire play was designed to get 5 yards, not 15. As Ive said several times, this play was not designed to go to OBJ, it was designed to go underneath. Landry had his man beat, Baker was just late.
