Baker since the Bye:

63% Completion, 224.5 Yards Per Game, 6 TDs, 1 INT, 91.2 QB Rating.

Those are against the 1st (NE), 3rd (Pitt), 6th (DEN), and 13th (BUF) best defensive teams in the NFL according to DVOA. The remaining games against DVOA Defenses:

Miami- 31st
Pitt- 3rd
Bengals 2x- 32nd
Arizona- 28th
Baltimore- 14th

He's been more than good enough to win. He hasn't looked like an unstoppable force akin to last season, but given where he was before the bye, it's been a massive improvement.

The sky is no longer falling when it comes to Mayfield, but I still want to see him brighten it up quite a bit against these bad teams.

I don't really see why this is so contentious here. His last four weeks are a good step, you folks don't have to demand apologies every time Mayfield doesn't go out there and suck.
Because you generally seem to dwell on the negative and gloss over or completely ignore the positive. It's just what you do and I think most people other than yourself would say something to the same effect about your posting tendencies. It gets old week after week. Like it or not Baker is a net positive and he's very likely to only get better as each season progresses.

Perhaps you’re excited by the consistency of the offense.

If so, I’d suggest you elevate that standard.

Lord knows Baker and Freddie both want more, because I do think it’s within them.

He's putting an awful lot of pressure on himself.

This team has zero margin of error at this point in time. I appreciate the confidence in his abilities but it wouldn't hurt to not say stuff like this ALL the time. Show me before we talk about being "made for the moment."

This isn't also just being clutch in the clutch moments. This is a consistent, baseline performance and expectation of greatness. I expect the Browns to win by multiple touchdowns to the Dolphins to get us to the make or break point that is @ Pittsburgh. If they struggle with a team that is injury ridden, not talented and flat out tanking, then questions will once again pop up about Baker and Freddie in my mind.

It’s just another RCF opinion and deserves no more weighting than any other. Just noise. And designed to get a reaction.
