Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The short accuracy a timing was on today.

This was also impressive, just the way his footwork gives him timing to put this on a dime.

Got to play with this level of skill every week.

Russell Wilson last 4 games:

200 yards 1 TD, 1 pick
232 yards 1 TD, 1 pick
378 yards 5 TD, 0 pick
182 yards 2 TD, 0 pick

he’s second in the MVP voting.

Asking for this performance every single game is just about as unreasonable as you can possibly get.

Once should ask for high performance every game.

It won't always happen but expectations and demands of excellence should always by the minimum standard.

I think he meant quality of throws.....not necessarily end stats.

Baker has slowly worked himself back in to a rhythm here and has looked more and more like the QB we need him to be. Just needs to maintain that level of consistency.

Just wanted to point out that the rest of the team is going to have to perform as well to win.

Baker isn’t always going to play perfect but of course we should expect him to and right now he’s doing it as the schedule lightened up.

Interesting that we still have the 2nd hardest schedule to date by opponents' win%, after these recent more "cupcake" games, if you can call BUF and PIT that - their DVOAs are, in fact, in the 20s out of 32.

From footballoutsiders quick reads:

10.

Mayfield loses 84 DYAR due to opponent adjustments, most of any quarterback this week. He was most effective on passes that traveled 3 to 6 yards downfield. His nine passes in that distance picked up eight first downs: eight completions for 83 yards and two touchdowns, plus a 3-yard DPI.

Yes, the running back on the Chesapeake Bay ranked as the top QB this week after last night's massacre of the Rams.

The playoff odds %s listed in FO are in line with what others are predicting; we and PIT both sit in the 20-30% range going into this weekend's game.

Noticed this week for the most part the Browns got the play in and up to the line with more than 10 seconds. I think it was a piece of the struggles the offense was having, especially Baker.

For the record, any improvement in Baker’s game has not coincided with any weight loss. This pic is from the Dolphins game. Dude’s still looking pretty chunky.
