Tried again. Went back to old swing as a base. Feel like I failed but I tried to implement:

1. Not bringing the hands until I felt the hips
2. Remember to snap wrists
3. Point bat towards pitcher in stance
4. Stop focusing so hard on bat speed and instead on the above

I had a different game plan to get hips going Than above but I was trying to do too much.

Try taking some exaggerated practice swings where your right-hand snaps over the top, and you hit yourself in the back with the bat.

Obviously, you don't need to hit yourself in the back when you're actually hitting, but that will help you get used to getting your hand over. I can tell you're still leading with your left hand because your swing stops so soon after contact.

Aren't you supposed to lead with your left?

Want to see. If I can install some sort of hitting setup in my apartment.

Living room is I think 20x13.

Been looking at :

Swingaway
Skilz hurricane cat 4
Skilz hitaway
Just a tee and a net (and deep net vs sock style idk?or just hang a canvas?)

There's this batting cage

And the dimensions seem to work..

Any other products I don't know about, or recs or experiences? I don't want to break a fucking wall or window. I don't even know if this is possible. Don't know how far back these hitting nets will let the ball go or how sturdy they are etc etc

This guys set up is nice

Any better?

Yes, much better.

Obviously tough to judge without a ball, so I'll reserve some judgements on the timing of your swing until I see more BP.

So it looks like Manny Ramirez has finally seen the light:

Former MLB slugger Manny Ramirez — as well-known for his "Manny being Manny" antics as his powerful home runs — has apologized for his career missteps in a Boston Globe interview, explaining that he has a renewed relationship with God and has been in seminary for the past five years....

I imagine he'll get mocked some for this -- some Red Sox fans will certainly be negative -- but it's kind of nice to see that he's found something that matters away from the game.

The pitching was bad and sometimes threw me off rhythm (tried to cut those out) and from the angle at least, I thinki was rotating hips better in my apartment, but generally this went a lot better and I like the follow through if nothing else. There are some bombs in there. A couple went 350 or so (Asa balls) and one I found about 400 feet out(I think the one at the 1:50 mark).

From what I can see, my load is kind of weak, can shore up hips more, hands starting position should be tilted towards pitcher for more whip, and I forgot to snap wrists here. If I can figure all that out I'll be.. More than happy.

Played 2 games, 4 hr in 6 at bat's but one barely made it over. 3 were legit

Bombs. Asa ball, 330+

Was slumping and thought too much for like a month. 5/7 5hr tonight. Just making sure I end with my lead leg straight ensures my hips pop, and then I just make sure I'm doing my modified wrist snap - pull the handle with my left hand and push with right hand in between thumb and forefinger. Ball just flies, and super consistently.

Need to start worrying about a poke shot or consistently hitting line drives now that the hr swing is shored up.

Bought a 30oz to see if I can get an extra 15 feet.

With a 27 i can get 22/30 over 260 ft, average 280. Fence at the real parks are 300. Inserted into some C games last night. Very nervous. 8 ab, 2 hr, hit the fence, warning track on a bad pitch.

Man the game moved fast as shit. Fun being able to depend on your team to play really well and do cool stuff. Would definitely need a few months to feel comfortable there though.

@David. are the leagues you're playing in not ones with rules on limited HR's?

Bat speed is more important than bat weight.

A lot of the better players I have been around have used 26 oz and below.

They were using such dead balls in Ohio the last time I played. Now that you're getting used to hitting the ball with authority, try to work on placement, and hitting line drives.

Depends on the league. Last night was 5, weds is 3, most nights it's one up.

If you can swing it, it does make a differencehttp://imgur.com/a/bVDtj6z

But I'll keep experimenting.

OPPO swing evens out for some reason and is always a line drive. Just bought a pop toss so I should be able to get some good practice in
