The Cavs All-Stiff Team: UPDATED -- Nominations Still Open for PG (SG Closed with 10 nominations)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
has Chris Mihm been mentioned, probably.

edit: yes

What about the great Martynas Andruskavicus (cant spell it)
Kid was never healthy. Add in Awvee Storey crushing his fucking skull and it's no surprise he washed out of the league as quick as he did.

Some great names are still coming out of the woodwork for some of the other polls that are open, but I can't edit a poll that already has started. So if there is a "favorite" shooting guard, point guard, or combo guard you'd like to add, you've got whatever time is left before I get around to posting them.

And just to be clear, I am definitely posting Dion Waiters.

Has someone nominated The Halfman yet?

What would your starting lineup be if you could get any past Cavalier in the prime?

Frazier
Wade
LeBron
Thurmond
Shaq

Probably the five best players at their peak -- not certain it would be the best team though because of the lack of shooting. And Thurmond and Shaq likely would get in each other's way. I'd switch Thurmond out for someone like Prime Kemp.

Perfect blend of slashing, shooting, defense, and athleticism.

Now if you could only figure out how to play with three basketballs at once, you'd have the perfect team!

:chuckle:

Just kidding. But I have become less of a Kyrie fan over time. Other than his isolation skills, I don't think he actually makes his team or teammates any better. And on a best of all time team...I think I'd rather have someone else who isn't as much of a ball-stopper. I'm not as much of a Mark Price fan as are some others, but I actually think he'd be a better fit on that team. Not nearly the isolation scorer Kyrie was, but I think he's less selfish, and better off ball.

Um...Korver maybe? Could make the case that he was the best off-ball player in NBA history in his prime.

He was arguably the best shooter in history. But I'd take prime Bruce Bowen over Korver -- one of the best 3&D players in history in terms of both hitting the three, and playing D.

Here's a team full of guys not listed yet:

PG - World B. Free
SG - Shawn Marion
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Luol Deng
C - Ben Wallace

Free was a 30 PPG scorer at his absolute peak. Marion was a defensive machine, capable of guarding 1-4. Jefferson was actually pretty good for a few seasons with the Nets. Deng was here for a minute and was a great defender and all-around glue guy. Peak Ben Wallace is one of the greatest defensive big men in NBA history, maybe THE greatest.

EDIT:

Actually going to switch things up a bit:

PG - Derrick Rose
SG - World B. Free
SF - Luol Deng
PF - Shawn Marion
C - Ben Wallace

Forgot we had Rose for like 27 seconds. I'll take the former MVP and pair him with Free for an explosive scoring back court. Marion and Deng can move to their more natural positions, and we free up RJ to interview them when they're blowing other teams out.
