RCF bet. Set your price.

You’ve had some pretty trash takes lately, so let’s start backing them up with some stakes. :chuckle:

I don't know what these "trash takes" are, (looking at the entire Garrett incident and not just the helmut swing?) but I'm happy to have a debate about any of them. Garrett was def in the wrong and deserves a suspension, but not an indefinite one, and I'd argue far worse legal hits have happened in NFL games.

Since we have no way to know if Myles will continue his appeal, or what conversations are occurring behind closed doors, betting on it now is foolish. It wouldn't be on the board in Vegas. If we get some more information about an appeal, the process, player union involvement, and precedents, then I will consider a small RCF bet to Fred's fundraiser.

I actually think we agree that Myles’ appeal SHOULD lead to a reduced sentence..

But your statement was that he will appeal and will win. If you actually believe that he will/would win his appeal just because there is past precedence...well, then you just haven’t been paying attention to the NFL lately. Or society as a whole, for that matter.

The unfortunate truth, IMO.

Ok I think we are in agreement. I think it should be reduced but not confident enough to bet on it. League hates the Browns and wants to make an example of Myles. Maybe he should have attended the draft and buttered up Goodell...

Logan Ryan, Tony Grossi, and now Mason Rudolph. The 2019 'woe is me' Mt. Rushmore.

Mason Rudolph can fuck right off with his presser comments. When you take a hit personally (that wasn't flagged) and start going after a guy, you're in danger of something unpredictable happening. Myles should be punished the season, yes. The hit was horrifying. Even with that all certain, it doesn't absolve Mason Rudolph's role in instigating the fracas on two occasions. It doesn't have to be zero-sum.

Not being able to accept those truths as independent of one-another is evidence of a lack of critical thinking skills.

Which nobody here is doing, but okay.

I’ll go on record and state that the things Freddie would have to do for me to want to bring him back are just not realistic.

The only thing that has changed, generally speaking, is the schedule weakening. He’s still an absolutely awful play caller. Team still does dumb things. A litany of other things I don’t feel like wasting energy typing.

Freddie is like Andy Reid, if you took away Andy’s play calling brilliance and were left with everything else.

You sure are spending a lot of free time defending Rudolph for not excusing her.

You mean about the concept that he should be suspended, when he otherwise wouldn’t be, simply because Garrett stepped way over the line?

Just not buying that sillyness.

No issue with a pending fine (Rudolph should certainly be fined), or the rationalization that Garrett can’t be suspended indefinitely per the CBA.

But the maddening stupidity of “self defense” takes are another embarrassment for a historically embarrassing fan base.

Take Garrett out of the Rudolph discussion.

Ogunjobi got suspended for shoving the guy to the ground.
You don't think Rudolph's actions are equatable to a shove?

I think you're writing your own history novel with this one. Maybe we're just too close to the mishaps & think "OIC"?

Discipline got brought up in the Garrett thread but I'd like to look at it here.

-Most flags in the league
-OBJ has been "embraced" to the point that he's getting uniform infractions every fucking week. The pants one was bullshit from the league. The watch and the shoes were bullshit from OBJ.
-Myles' specific lack of discipline. Late hits, taking a swing in the opener, and then Thursday's debacle.
-Greg Robinson's ejection.
-Team's lack of discipline when it comes to the details of running plays, running routes, etc.

It's a massive indication of Freddie's coaching to this point: poor.

Forget gameplanning, playcalling, clock management, etc. This is by far his biggest flaw, imo.

Speaking of suspensions, can people stop making personal attacks?

Stop acting like mere Steelers fans.
