Sports teams moving cities is such bull shit.
It depends if it helps or hurts. Oakland leaving will most likely help the league. The Rams and Chargers have no fans and makes it looks like a joke. They should have one team that switches cities every 5 years.

MLB is a tax payer and government subsidized industry. As long as there are areas willing to subsidize franchises...as long as ownerships aren't held accountable for putting bad product on the field...there will be teams that move.

And since baseball has become a studio game with the vast majority of its revenue coming from broadcast rights, it won't matter much.

Never been to Portland or Vegas, so I have no idea about which would be a better overall market.

But while Portland is very concerned about public expenditures and things like environmental factors, the people in Vegas don't give a rats butt about spending money and cacti in the desert.

And the Latinos in Nevada...a now important consideration...make up 30% of Nevadas population.
Even higher in immediate Las Vegas metro area.

I've always thought Vegas made the most sense.

That article was from a year ago, and totally off base.

Beane is not associated with the Red Sox. Just the opposite. He is a minority owner of the A's.

Isnt the opposite of Red Sox the Yankees?

Oakland trade outlook.

I'd double check your link since it wasn't to the article on there...

But honestly with their farm not being ranked highly, they need players and trading Olson, Chapman, Bassitt, Manaea and Montas would honestly get them a legit group of prospects since almost every team would take any of those guys... Pinder is a non-tender candidate and I think Trivino and Laureano could get you more players as well... Honestly trade those 5 and a start of a rebuild is probably going to be pretty easy honestly...
