The Game (2024) | #2 Ohio State vs. TTUN | November 30th, 2024 @ High Noon

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
in the coaching incompetence and no talk of sign stealing the past two years, yes. You’re right

On the “rotten to the core”

Fuck that. Should have done it to Baker and sure as shit should do it to ANY team that tries to plant a flag on the O, whether we lose by 50, 10, or 1

Planting the flag at midfield is not part of “to the victors goes the spoils”

This is over

Vrabel can field the physicality necessary to win these games.

Ohio State, essentially, fired Urban Meyer, one of the top 10 college coaches of all time, and we've still gotta listen to the "but who will they hire?!?!?" stuff when it comes to getting rid of this joker of a coach.

And this is after, essentially, firing Jim Tressell, one of probably the greatest 20 coaches of all time.

They'll find someone worth the job.

I'm sure they thought the same thing when they fired Urban, and how has that worked out?

Well that's the point. They hired an absolute clown as a head coach and they're still going to make the playoffs because that's just how the system works, especially now with the NIL shit.

My point is that having the cachet to hire a great coach is not the same thing as the ability to discern in advance who will actually be a great coach.

Day is a really, really good Coach. Changing staffs comes with lots of risk.

I’m not saying it isn’t deserved but a new coach is never a guaruntee and Ohio State has had unbelievable stability.

I suppose you (Ohio State) in an ideal scenario win the national title and try to put it behind you.
I’d rather lose 4-5 games every year as long as we win this one. Im good with a complete coaching staff turnover. It’s badly needed.

His record against teams like Iowa, Akron, Penn St, or his record vs the likes of Oregon, Michigan, man what are we even doing here, he's an 0'fer in college's #1 rivalry.
Ryan Day has beaten good teams. To my knowledge, he had a team also undefeated one season, and lost on a field goal to one of the best teams we have seen in years in UGA.
He also ran into ScUM, which was the best program/team in the nation the past few years. Urban Meyer got blasted by bad teams; he is a total POS too. Tresell got blasted in big games and lost games he should not have either. None of this matters. I am not going to waste a ton of energy on this subject. Ryan Day will be back next year.

I see this talk about Day being a good recruiter and I'm like, you're the head coach at Ohio State, doesn't being one of the top programs in the country already do a lot of the recruiting legwork?
Yes. Absolutely. It’s been that way for almost 30 years.
