My daughter (almost 14) is considering trying to actually do some practicing to get better at golf. She's a good athlete with a focus on volleyball right now but is giving up soccer, so golf might take up some of her summer (with beach volleyball).
She's got the tools to do well. She boomed a drive 220+ down the middle (once) yesterday when we went out.
She's currently playing with hand-me-down starter set that is probably 3x as old as she is. I want to get her updated clubs. Not new ones, but ones that are a few years old or used. Do I get her fitted so we know length and shaft flex and stuff like that? Is any fitting going to be accurate without her having a swing that's going to look like a finished product after some lessons and practice? I think that's my biggest concern - not having a current swing that's going to be close to her long-term one. Will that give false data for the fitting?
