This thing could die in a week, or be successful we will see lol

Haven't seen many golf posts on here, figured I'd start this.

I'm a pretty avid golfer and play at least once a week. Anyone else on here play alot?

PGA championship starts tomorrow as well. I'll be cheering for Tiger and DUFF DADDY

I am also an avid golfer. Play 1-2 times a week and will be going on vacation soon to play alot!!!! I love the game!

I am a big Rickie Fowler fan but this year he has been MEH at best. I will still be rooting for him. I am also with you and would like to see Tiger and Duff do well!

Speaking of Fowler this has been going around twitter today. One of his wedges has a Dumb and Dumber reference on it lol

lmao

Don't have a favorite golfer. I always want an American to win as long as they don't anchor their putter. Can it be 2016 so that rule is implemented?

Everyone can anchor their putter. It provides no competitive advantage if some people putt better by not doing it.

I golfed in hs, quit, and just picked up this summer. Was rough, still is rough. I can't putt for shit, but I'm using a mid 90's ping zing because I was good with it in HS when I played 18 a day all summer.

Really, really pulling for tiger to choke this weekend. Love watching him drop god damnits. Wish Fowler would not suck, wish Rory would go back to Titleist, wish Phillip would leave the Jug at home.

As for this week, if I can pick four?

Day, Zach Johnson, Snedeker, and fuck it; Tom Watson for the lulz.

Just getting back into golf. Never really had my own set because I'm the only lefty in my family, so I found a few in the lost and found at my work. I have a 4 wood, a 4 and 7 iron, a putter, and a sand wedge.

I need to get a good driver but I have no idea where to begin. I want a quality driver for a good price, but I'm willing to spend more to get a better longer lasting club.

So where do you guys think I should start?

Price range?

I have a Cobra ZL Encore. It's an extra stiff shaft (no homo), and is more durable. You can buy the driver head separately as well if anything happened to it. Plus it's sexy af:

All white from the grip to the shaft. I payed about 170 for mine on eBay, but lefty clubs may be tougher to get. Pretty much all new drivers now a days are 3 figures in price

Almost every golf galaxy has used lefty clubs.

I'm willing to spend up to 200 but would prefer less. I think I'm going to see if I can get fitted by the golf pro where I work and see if I can get a driver for as close to cost as possible. I just don't know anything about drivers.

Also, that is a really good looking driver.

Will honestly say, it's really worthless to get fitted for a driver. The pay to cut can be achieved by choking down.

My uncle is 5'4, uses an off the rack R7 driver, and chokes up an ungodly amount. 230 yard drives down the pike, no problem.

Irons though? Yeah.

Golf could be the hardest sport.

As a beginner, how do I drive the damn ball straight? I continually slice mine really far right when driving, but can hit my irons fairly well.

Put most of your weight on the back foot, start your swing as if the club head is moving away from you to eliminate an over the top swing that I'd guarantee a beginner has.

Also; I have an Adams tight Lie five wood. I could hit in HS, couldn't hit when I started it. Consistently hitting a dead perfect, high arching draw that's putting me at 220 off the tee. I hit my irons really long (170/5 seven iron, 205/10 5 iron), so I'd rather be fairway back twenty off my drives in the rough.

Almost all golfers slice, and there are about 5000 things that can cause it. Mine is so bad sometimes I'll just hit my 5 iron off the tee

Played two years of HS golf using nothing more than a 5, 7, 9 pitching, sand and putter. It's "pussy golf" but it's really, really smart for amateurs like any of us.

Almost every course in NE Ohio is two five irons and a very, very short wedge.
