Landry is probably a tad bit overrated but he's a HUGE addition to this team - no question about it. Also, this type of move might make some other guys more willing to buy in to what Dorsey and the Browns are selling.

LISTEN, we've been trash for 20 years. TRASH! This could very well be the first domino in the greatest Browns offseason in recent memory. Live it up, boys. We deserve this and MORE!

Thank you Sashi for helping us make this addition. Even if Duke Johnson is a better WR and would cost half as much as Landry!

It's amazing...

We just got a pro bowl level WR for a couple day 2 picks that would have been draft busts if Sashi was using them.

To be fair, twitter is swarming with the likes of:

"We've never seen anything like this!" and "The previous regime wouldn't have made this trade"

Completely ignoring that he traded for Jamie Collins.

Also, people like Daryl Ruiter calling out "Sashi apologists" as soon as the damn trade is announced.

Love the Landry trade but there's no reason to A) Bash Sashis and/or B) Rewrite history in order to fit a narrative.

There's no reason to go into new vs old regime over every move. On both sides, actually. This was a great trade. Leave it at that.

Yeah I am going to wait and see how this move affects our run defense on PFF on third and long before I get excited.

I aint even a hater. I’d just as soon laugh at people on Twitter. But yes, you’re right, great trade for sure.

Sashi played a part in setting up Dorsey to make this trade. Dorsey pulled the trigger. If Landry can be a game breaking WR, it's a great move that had two regimes responsible for it. I don't think that's unrealistic to thank a previous regime. If other posters want to troll past that, I can't control their shit posting.

I feel like there were rumors last year about the Browns trying to trade for Landry.

DeValve, Higgins, and Duke received most of the play as a slot receiver last year correct? I see touches still available for Duke and probably DeValve in the red zone... if the Browns get more first downs and sustain longer drives due to Landry's work, everyone gets more targets by the end of the year. Again, like I pointed out in the offseason thread: Landry caught a very impressive percentage of his targets every season up until last season, and I have no problem blaming that decrease on poor quarterback play from the Dolphins in 2017.

Things that you have to like about Landry (League Ranks)

5% Drop Rate - #10
Yards After Catch - #3
Red Zone Catches - #1 (with only 5th most targets)

Reliable hands, gets north south after the catch and can produce in the redzone.

I'd say those are 3 things our receiving core desperately needs.
