The Jarvis Landry Thread: Bless 'Em

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Jarvis might be in my top 3 favorite Browns all time. It may sound corny or cliché, but I do think he was the perfect player with the perfect attitude to help chance the culture here. He isn't the biggest or most physically gifted receiver, but dude just grinds and finds a way to make it work. He plays through injuries, he doesn't make excuses. That doesn't even include his chemistry with Baker. He is a guy I'd like to see retire a Brown.

I'm going to be pretty upset if they do something to get rid of Landry this year. I'm not even sure what the contract ramifications are but surely it's a locker room disaster waiting to happen.

Cut Cleveland fans some slack. This is the first offseason in 20 years that we aren't looking for a qb, a coach, a front office, or all 3. :chuckle: :alc:

We're not sure how to spend our time when it's not scouting top 3 draft picks.

The part of the offseason where ppl try to decrypt Twitter is definitely the worst.
If I remember correctly, Jarvis Landry often makes cryptic posts. I seemed to recall some other cryptic social media post he made a year or two ago, so I started digging. Found one article from a year ago where he deleted all his Instagram photos except one of his mom. I believe he also had some sort of angry posts that people thought were directed at the Browns, but it turns out was likely just a family issue. Also found an article from his Miami days where the author was trying to decode his tweets.

It really just seems like he likes to tweet out motivational phrases. Maybe it’s kind of corny, but people really shouldn’t go digging for some deeper meaning. It’s basically the social media version of a motivational poster.

so um....

are we just ignoring hte fact that the last day landry has been tweeting some really cryptic shit? though it seems incredibly unlikely the browns would be releasing Landry, even if it does save a lot

Diamond....
Diamonds are made from carbon
Carbon is an element
Tungsten is an element
Tungstens symbol is W
Watt starts with a W

JJ Watt to Cleveland confirmed!

I can't imagine the team would just waive Landry. If they were planning to part ways with him, I'd think at least one team out there would give a fourth or something in return for him.

My guess is that his tweets are about stuff that doesn't have to do with football, which we've seen from him in the past.

The tweet stuff is definitely much ado about nothing.

But it got me thinking about Landry and Odell and the shelf life of the Browns paying these WRs so much. Specifically about what the exit strategy could look like.

I feel like you can part with Beckham before Landry, but you cannot part with Landry before Beckham. OBJ is an emotional guy and is very outspoken about his relationship with Jarvis. If we shipped his brother out of here I think it would have a serious negative effect on him. On the other hand I believe Jarvis would be upset but could survive if we moved on from Odell.

I’m trying to envision what the exit strategy looks like here, because it’s probably a question we need to answer in the next year or so. And more so than some other roster decisions, this is a conversation with pretty significant locker room considerations IMO.

Part with them both after this season. I would think if the browns draft a WR in the first three rounds this year, they'll do exactly that.

Motivational quotes are definitely less corny when you’re as rich as he is after running 4.6 :chuckle:
