You never see stefanski coaching up anybody. After that 60 yard td, he should've been talking to delpit And the secondary in the Carolina game, but telling these guys we can't have that. He's too busy talking in a headset hiding his words.

. Let the team know you mean business. You're the head coach. Coach these guys, show some fire. Get in a player or a coaches face. Bench somebody, curse somebody out. This is serious now we're blowing 13 point leads in 2 minutes. It's time for emotion.

Honest question here:

How many current NFL head coaches would you trade Kevin Stefanski for?

Belichick
Tomlin
Reid
Harbaugh
McDermitt
Shannahan
LaFluer
McVay
Vrabel???
From another thread (I'd put Sean McDermott in the first group now):

I think Stefanski is probably a top-10 head coach. I'm interested to see what he finally does in 2024 with a full offseason with a franchise QB under his belt. Remember, his first year was COVID and no offseason. The second year was ruined by Baker, and now the third year he doesn't have a QB for 11 games. However, from what I've seen so far, I like it. Not only did he hit the ground running in 2019, but the few mistakes he makes, he seems willing to learn from--rather than being stubborn and stupid.

The list of guys I think I would take over him are:

  • John Harbaugh
  • Andy Reid
  • Sean McVay
  • Bill Belichick
  • Mike Tomlin
  • Kyle Shanahan
  • Mike Vrabel
That puts him somewhere in the pack of:
  • Sean McDermott
  • Zac Taylor
  • Matt LaFleur
  • Nick Siriani
  • Todd Bowles
My biggest Stefanski criticism is that I'd like to see him be more of the CEO of the team, and let an offensive coordinator take charge of the offense and call plays on Sunday. I think that leads to greater team success, while also growing a stronger coaching staff underneath you.

Having some elite coaches on the staff like Bill Callahan, Stump Mitchell and Callie Brownson goes a long way in this league. It's a credit to Stefanski that these people want to work with him
.

So I think you and I are on the same page. I'm not sure I'd take LaFleur over Stefanski. I definitely wouldn't make that trade straight up right now and cause turmoil for something I'm not sure is an upgrade.

Elite coach Callie brownson?

It’s seeming more and more like the Covid season was an outlier for him. He didn’t have to coach anyone personally. They zoomed all their meetings. Him being a younger coach and more tech savvy gave him a heads up on some of the old timers during that time. But now that he has to actually be around his staff and players every day he seems overwhelmed and not engaging. Some guys are just meant to be assistants.

Yes, for what she does.

She also has more football accolades than almost anyone else in Berea.

You have a problem with that?
Women’s football league accolades doesn’t make her an elite nfl coach anymore than college accolades makes a former college coach an elite nfl coach. She’s an assistant WR coach. Not even the WR coach.

She's chief of staff and from everything we've heard, she does a terrific job in her role.

She's also an assistant WR coach but that's not her primary duty.

And that makes her elite?
Yeah. For just a chief of staff role in the building, I think she's one of the best hires you could ask for. Just like Stump is one of the best RB coaches in the business.

I feel like you're playing some game where you're pretending I'm saying she would be a good offensive coordinator, head coach or whatever.

Id probably take Andy Reid, Harbaugh and Tomlin. Everyone else isn’t any better or worse.

Rank all 32 chief of staffs. Then we can decide who’s truly an elite chief of staff.
