Kevin Stefanski is a nice guy.

Kevin Stefonski on the other hand? Total racist. I hear at Thanksgiving he licks the serving spoon then sticks it right back into the dish.

Alright for real… Can anyone help me with getting a Stefanski beard ?

I need to know how his beard maintains the same size everyday ? And he obviously colors it… Do we think he mixes in gray ?

I don't weigh her. How do you know she maintains the same size every day?

I'll add on.

I'm perfectly okay with Stefanski never getting involved on the defensive end, outside of a supervisory capacity.

If Joe Woods owns that side of the ball, and Stefanski allows his DC to actually own that side without having the head coach micromanage, I think I prefer that.

There are few things that destroy an organization faster than having confusing leadership from the top. When you're not sure if Woods is in charge or if Stefanski is in charge, it's demoralizing and splintering.

If a CEO needs to get involved in the support organization, they should instead just relieve the head of that department and appoint someone who can make leadership decisions so that the CEO doesn't have to get involved.

There's no reason for the CEO to be directly involved in personnel decisions, just like there's no reason for Stefanski to be micromanaging that side of the ball.

Stefanski SHOULD be evaluating and managing the DC and the defensive coaches though. If he believes that there are deficiencies there (which I think it likely) then he should replace those positions.

I think that trigger should have already been pulled. I'm okay with it being pulled in the offseason. If it doesn't get pulled, I'm going to be concerned.
I think the role you missed by the supervisor, in my own leadership vision, is that of fostering growth.

I don’t see any evidence of Woods growing or getting better under Stefanski, and I firmly believe that strong leaders foster growth in those beneath them. Stefanski gets some blame for that because again, it’s the guy he wanted in the vision he has for a football team.

I’m not a fan of a “supervisor” unless the person they are supervising is someone with a long, proven track record like Callahan. He’s got it figured out and deserves the benefit of the doubt. Woods, at this point, absolutely does not.

Right now I see Stefanski as a fantastic offensive coordinator and someone who can can grow quite a bit as a leader. He’s a young head coach so that makes sense. I don’t want him gone because I believe he can and will learn and go on to be a top notch head coach here or elsewhere.

I do, however, think that there is fair criticism to be shed on him as the Chin of the organization.

Great conversation by the way. I am passionate about leadership and I recognize there are many schools of thought that go into it.

Does anyone here think Garrett could reach a certain tolerance point and demand a trade?

Yes, but that's a long way off. It's not nearly as close to happening as you think IMO.

Let's see how he feels with a new DC and DL coach first.

I hope so man. That "Myles speaks for Myles" makes me uneasy. I wish KS had not said that.

The answer would be to obviously fire the HC who runs the offense right? Not improve the defense right?

Are we done here?

I mean Sam is not wrong in the respect that this season is almost certainly already shot. They’re 3-7 and probably going to be 3-8 before Watson plays a snap.

Watson could play like the best QB in the NFL and its still highly unlikely that the Browns finish 6-0 to get to 9-8 because 6-0 is really hard to do no matter who your QB is.

But there’s no doubt in my mind on two things.

1. Deshaun Watson is going to play even better than Jacoby Brissett has this season. It may take a game or two to really knock off the rust, but you’re talking about an elite QB versus a journeyman QB who is playing well. The difference is going to be noticeable.

2. Assuming No. 1 is true, the amount of improvement the Browns need to make on defense and special teams is actually pretty marginal. The Chiefs and Dolphins (currently 1 and 2 in offense) are only ranked 22 and 23 in defense. The Browns don’t have to go from the worst defense to a great defense to have success. They just need to improve a little bit.

The Browns would be 6-4 right now with Brissett if their defense was just regular bad like Miami and KC’s is.

It’s really shouldn’t be all that difficult at all for the Browns to go from bottom of the barrel to regular bad defensively. Obviously we’re all gonna be striving for better than that, but if they fire Woods, overhaul the DT room and find a competent FS - there’s no reason they can’t quickly become a slightly below middle of the pack defense next year.

And if they are, they’ll win double digit games very easily.

Thee thing I'm looking forward to the most is the complete 180 people are gonna do when they see Deshaun Watson out there and realize that the ship isn't as far off course as people think.

When that happens, I'm still gonna have the same reaction towards them as I had towards the people who couldn't see the writing on the wall with Baker.

I think certain Browns fans are some of the most infuriating ones out there. I look forward to so many victory laps with some friends in the near future. If they thought I was bad about Baker I cannot wait to pour it on them with Stefanski...
