Yet we won, and you thought he did great in some of our mind boggling losses.

Yes, that’s right.

Because I try and look at the process that led to the results over just blindly judging the results.

Sometimes good process doesn’t lead to good results. Sometimes bad process doesn’t lead to bad results. It is what it is.

Bullshit.

I rolled a die and got a 6. The people who told me that only had a one in six chance of happening are so stupid. I rolled a six, so betting on six with even odds was CLEARLY the right move.

And, sometimes the result is accurately reflective of the effectiveness of the process regardless of the opinions of random observers on a fan forum.

Do you think that anyone has ever claimed that results never reflect the effectiveness of the process?

Because I can guarantee you that nobody in this thread has claimed that.

Do you want to try again? Or maybe just save everyone the hassle, let this one lie and take the L?

My statement: "And, sometimes the result is accurately reflective of the effectiveness of the process regardless of the opinions of random observers on a fan forum."

I was responding to this statement: "Sometimes good process doesn’t lead to good results. Sometimes bad process doesn’t lead to bad results."

This statement literally indicates a disconnect between process and results sometimes, and a preference of his preferred process over results sometimes. Nobody said never, so why are you putting that word in my mouth? Just to hand me the "L"?

Then you go and put the roll of a dice on equal footing with the decision making process of a head coach over the course of an entire football game.

Why don't you just STFU about always trying to hang an "L" on anyone else who disagrees with you? Would you gain some gratification if I did so? You want me to just bend the knee? You wonder why so many people accuse you of always having to be right, and of being condescending to others? Your last comment is exhibit A.

I really don't need an answer to any of my questions. We have fundamental disagreements about how we view and understand the NFL, and I'm fully aware that you look down on whatever my opinion is unless it mirrors yours. I have the option of just not engaging any further, and that gets more attractive all the time. It's either that or "just take the L". Guess which one I'll pick?

If you're completing the rest of his sentence, then my bad. I could argue that, in that case, it doesn't need to be said, but whatever.

To me, it sure sounded like you were making a rebuttal--a rebuttal to an argument nobody has ever made (which was the entire point of my post). But if you weren't, so be it. Mea culpa.

I know analogies can sometimes be misconstrued, but let's break this one down.

The topic is process not always yielding positive results.

The example provided is someone betting 50:50 odds on a one in six chance--yet winning the bet.

That is an example of how bad process can lead to positive result, which is EXACTLY the topic of the little tiff you engaged in.

So do you see how this analogy shows the folly of the logic at hand, while not claiming the two different topics are equal?

Why don't you just STFU about always trying to hang an "L" on anyone else who disagrees with you?
I know you're angry, but this isn't about me. The person you were disagreeing with was @CBBI. Remember, you started trying to clown on him with the Power Rangers gif. I know it can feel bad to get called out on your bullshit, but you have nobody to blame but yourself.

Would you gain some gratification if I did so?
Nope. I don't care about you at all--just the arguments you put forth. I've sad many a time, you could be Hitler for all I care--I only care about the words on the page.

You want me to just bend the knee?
Nope.

You couldn't be further off base.

The opinions I respect the most are the ones that challenge preconceived notions I have.

However, when people have takes that are built on rocky foundations, they should be exposed as such. **WARNING: I'm not saying you, @buzzdog do this. I'm using a hypothetical** If you want Stefanski fired, but your entire reason for doing so is that he "hides behind a play sheet" then you really shouldn't expect your opinion to be respected and accepted. It should be criticized and ridiculed not because of the conclusion--but because of the lack of work and insight that it grows from.

Some people, like @Randolphkeys thought that Ogunjobi was best suited to play a 1-tech or 0-tech in our defense--that he was showing signs as a pretty solid run blocker. I always thought that Ogunjobi had zero value at that position, and his only value in this league was as a penetrating 3-tech. He did the work, had examples and reasons for his opinion, and nobody said a peep about it.

It's almost like process matters more than result.

Boom. Full circle.

Larry O is currently the second best defensive lineman to Cam Hayward on a mediocre Steelers defense. He's stuffing the run pretty well.

Yes he is.

He even played nose really well in Cincinnati.

He sure isn't making a difference or earning these contracts by penetrating and wrecking the backfield.

I simply don't have time, energy or desire to go further down this rabbit hole.

I'm not claiming any win and I'm not taking any loss. I get pushback if I criticize any aspect of Stefanski's decision making, and I get pushback if I actually compliment his decision making process. Fuck it. It's not worth engaging certain people on the subject of one Kevin Stefanski.

I I get pushback if I criticize any aspect of Stefanski's decision making
You understand this isn't reality, right?

Plenty of people have criticized Stefanski and Berry without getting the same pushback you get.

You'd think one would look at the differences and start to piece it together.

Why, when people leverage criticism behind thoughtful analysis, do their criticisms get accepted by the masses, while when I lob out emotional hot takes, I get pushback? No--it can't be any fault of my own. It MUST be that I'm not allowed to hold any different opinions!

Emotional hot takes. LOL. Your condescension knows no bounds.

Hate these damn tight end screens. Why not a wr screen. Even when we had Beckham we never did them. Stop throwing them to the slowest players on screens. Why not do a te screen with Kareem hunt? Or a wr screen to dpj or cooper just to get them touching the ball?

In that Dallas game, didn't OBJ break multiple screens?

Also, why do teams throw passes in the red zone to eligible offensive linemen? Throw to wide receivers! They're your best catchers!

Oh wait, sometimes throwing to players the defense doesn't focus on, or to players who are in good positions can be efficient? Who knew.

When has the tight end screen done any good for us?
