And based on the voting, that would be correct. He garnered 25 of 50 first place votes.frankly no one else should have come close

Just grave dug some old Freddie threads to take a drunken reflection on how we felt at the end of his year. He won us over with his belly but quickly lost us with his brain.
Stefanski deserves a thread revival bump because i've never felt this comfortable with the direction of our offense going into a pre-season before. I was too young to care when we were good but I've been on this wagon since 1999 and feeling this relaxed is just a strange feeling.
I'm excited to see what new wrinkles we work in - hope to see Chubb and Hunt worked into the passing game much more. Would've liked to have seen them in the same backfield more but I have this feeling Stefanski is almost delaying that intentionally. Fuck it just feels good to feel like your head coach is much smarter than other coaches in the league, and most importantly, you, for once.
Has anyone else gone through the rabbit hole venture of wondering where this franchise would be if Dorsey hired Stefanski (or Arians) instead of Freddie? I can't help but think Stefanski wouldn't be as good as he is with Berry and DePo, and that we'd be still be hovering between 6-10 and 9-7 for a few years until we retool the FO again...
It probably never would've happened in the first place. Dorsey intentionally hired Kitchens to maintain control because he knew he could be in Kitchen's ear due to his inexperience. It was a power play. He gambled and he lost.
FWIW, I thought Dorsey was a decent talent evaluator, great with our players, and obviously helped shape a much more professional culture. He was one of our best GMs in years but his hubris was his downfall.
I know Reid was hired before Dorsey, but i am not sure it was a power play to hire Kitchen. Many thought he could do the job including myself. I think he just made a bad decision and when he refused to fire Kitchens after a year he lost his job too.
Dorsey is a good talent evaluator, but it appears Berry is the real deal all around top 5 GM. It doesnt make sense really, because does anyone know how old Berry is without looking it up? Yep he just turned 34.
Insane how young and how good Berry actually is. Think about this, Berry is still learning on the job. He will get better. Crazy to think.
I just remember reading that was one of the reasons Dorsey was allegedly canned. His ego was creating friction amongst FO guys specifically DePo. Whether that was his actual intention re: maintaining lordship over Kitchens - the way he had interacted with Freddie seemed to cause enough disruption and distrust amongst top executives which led to Dorsey being seen in a different light.
I definitely wouldn't be surprised to learn that Dorsey and DePo went to war a lot when discussing draft picks and free agents. Thank god Haslam finally learned from his past mistakes but I will always be thankful for what Dorsey did for this organization. Canning both Hue and Haley in one fell swoop took took stones and it worked to perfection. We aren't where we are today without his contributions.
