I don't want folks to unnecessarily join me down the rabbit hole, but the exercise wasn't a *why* didn't Dorsey hire seone else, but a "what if" he hired someone else?

I think Dorsey and Stefanski likely would've clashed since Kevin is very pro-analytics as well. Dorsey would've either of been fired or quit because he wasn't on board with the vision that DePo and Kevin seem to share.

Why be on a sports message board if we dont go down some rabbit holes together?

I was trying to save yall from this trip. If you wanna take the journey, I've got a decent head start; join me!

At the time, I advocated for Arians, good history, offensive mind, and he really wanted to be here. I thought if they liked Freddy so much, they could groom him for a year or two as BA's OC. We definitely would have been better in '19, but without hiring Berry, we wouldn't be as far along as we are now. So, I guess we're lucky Freddy wasted a season for us, because one year later we are sitting pretty. Yep, I'm glad we didn't hire the coach who wound up winning the Super Bowl.

Its also doubtful BA would have brought tb12 with him. And in no world could Dorsey and Stefanski work together sucessfully.

I know Reid was hired before Dorsey, but i am not sure it was a power play to hire Kitchen. Many thought he could do the job including myself. I think he just made a bad decision and when he refused to fire Kitchens after a year he lost his job too.

Dorsey is a good talent evaluator, but it appears Berry is the real deal all around top 5 GM. It doesnt make sense really, because does anyone know how old Berry is without looking it up? Yep he just turned 34.

Insane how young and how good Berry actually is. Think about this, Berry is still learning on the job. He will get better. Crazy to think.

It's not that crazy. I'm 37 and I'm in my second year of running an entire organization. And we're doing really well so I must be doing a good job lol

Totally different levels of scale and what he's doing is certainly more impressive, but age shouldn't be the restriction it often is.

But experience matters, and such a big job in your 30's, You and Berry, its very impressive how quick the learning curve is for both of you.

Now go back and do everyone bitching and moaning that we were "acting like the smartest people in the room" because we hired "analytics guys instead of football guys."

I would like to think that everyone who was pounding the table for Mike McCarthy learned something...
