The Last of Us

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just got it the day before yesterday. Been playing in the dark. I'm at the part where you smuggle your cargo and you just get into the city in the ruined office building. Game has been fantastic so far.

One of the better video game endings I've seen. Very satisfying. Considering that the Uncharted games have had mostly crappy endings, I was pleasantly surprised.

Don't be talkin shit about my Uncharted :chuckles:. Seriously though, what's with this online talk? Do I need a special edition? If not I may dust off my ps3.

I mean, I like the Uncharted games well enough, but the last few chapters in each of them are generally the worst. I also hate how they take what could be an awesome, Indiana Jones style action-adventure game and turn it into a pure shooter. I'd prefer more puzzles and hand-to-hand combat than boring, forty-minute long shoot-em-ups. The shooting isn't bad...it just gets old when the third wave of enemies rushes into the room you've been in for the last ten minutes. I feel like they use those waves to pad out the game length.

This is not wrong. I always laughed at the whole, "solve ridiculous puzzle, enter tomb that noone has seen for centuries, oh wait, bad guys are here." thing. It could do with less shooting and more puzzles, I'm all for the puzzles. I love that shit. I'm not saying the games are perfect, but they're the closest thing to an Indiana Jones game I can think of, which makes them great in my eye. I just love the whole solving ancient historical riddles thing.

I'm not one for the whole post-apocalyptic, zombie kind of theme. Really not my kind of thing. However I haven't heard a bad word from anyone about this game. In fact, the customer/fan endorsements have been nothing short of overwhelming.

For somebody who's not really into that kind of thing, but certainly loves and appreciates great games, is it still worth it?

I don't normally get into those types of games either (never got into Resident Evil type games at all), but this is a very, very good game. I'm really glad I bought it.

Wow, awesome. I just found out I have a cousin who has it. I might pay him a visit to check it out.
