I hope you're right but my take is that when you're as bad as he is at the three, there's only one way to go. The problem is that he'll most likely just go from awful to nearly real bad. You'd of thought with Korver and Frye on the team he might of picked up something but no, he's still a bricklayer.
And he can slash to a degree but it's always followed up with a weak layup that misses half the time instead of throwing it down.
I'm not hating the guy, and hope he succeeds. Time will tell.

What are you talking about? The kid is the king of picking up something from other players. Or you might be right. He is not picking up anything, he is working his ass off to develop himself.

Eh...? We were all gushing about his shot form looking identical to Korver, and pickup up some moves from LeBron, in particular that hesitation-spin move out at the 3 point line.

Not sure if link will work cause i use like 50 posts per page instead of default but

In response to the two prior posts - I'm not a stat guy but just going by the eye test. I see Cedi avoiding taking shots and only taking them if he feels they have a chance of going in. To me it looks as if he doesn't want the ball half the time. Or he passes it when he has a fairly open look.
He'd admit that himself if truth be told.
His form may look somewhat like Korvers but his touch isn't the same. Come on now.

Maybe you need glasses.

He is willing to share the ball, unlike most of the players on the team at this point,,it makes him stand out,,,not because he's afraid to shoot but when all the guys are moving the ball you just about always end up with an open shot.

How many 3's is he taking a game? For most of the year he was the only one willing to hoist a 3. I think he is fine. If anything his 3 and attacking the rim are on point and he needs to work on being consistent on defense and not over helping, which i think is a problem for him. As well as he can recover, you need to be elite athletically to recover in the NBA. He would be better off not hedging so much.

If that's true then one thing is for certain:

Cedi isn't picking up anything from Clarkson.

What Could A Cedi Osman Contract Extension Look Like For The Cavaliers?

a similar extension to what Justise Winslow got, hopefully Cedi can improve his defense next season which was the disappointing part of his game last season

I thought defense was a strength in Cedi's game but it didn't show last season. Though Drew's concepts, rotations and poor coaching didn't help the situation.

Need to toss a good portion of what happened last year in the trash. Coaching was poor at best. With no real direction what so ever on offensive/defensive schemes, trying to judge some of these players is futile. With that being said, Cedi did look lost an awful lot. Hoping that this new staff can right some wrongs and really help not only the newly drafted players, but the younger (Cedi/Zizic/Sexton) guys too. I for one think there is a good deal of potential on this team and the key will be the entire coaching staff working with these guys thoroughly on defense as well as offense.

Yeah scheme and direction was bad last year. I think with an actual head coach that is going to want to instill values, non negotiables, new scheme and style as well as player roles on the team will help organise and simplify what was a mess last season.

In year 1 for Cedi he had to play defence to get on the court, that was his role. This past season was just a mess in that regard, I suppose that might be the case as young players test their limits and find their niche though.

I think Osman looked like he could be a really good 2-way role player when not asked to do too much when he was playing minutes before LeBron left.

He obviously is limited in that, he's not a primary ball handler, not even a secondary one. But he's still very young, a very hard worker, has some real skills, etc. If you can build the stars around Osman, he can contribute to winning. I'm convinced of that.

Cedi is a very unselfish player, and I'd guess that the lack of an offensive system may have been hardest on his game. He should thrive in a more consistent offensive system when he can play a known role within that system and not feel like a ball-hog when he chooses to shoot.
