True that part is good, and I think to a certain extent playing against international competition in real games is probably better at getting him ready for the season than playing in pick up / un-official games. I just think there needs to be a limit on how much he plays in these scenarios. Especially when the other NBA players on his team aren't playing.
At the very least he was able to finish the tourney with a couple of strong games.
Yeah heavy minutes and every day etc. It's an interesting point. Some guys are given wide leeway, and then there is Z who wasn't allowed to play for his national team to many hurt feelings. Then there is Yao, whose career was almost assuredly cut short because of heavy minutes year round that China made him play.

Who else is not allowed to play internationally in recent years?

Not sure how impressive it is, Corey Webster is nowhere near NBA standard and is 4th on even better percentages
Giannis averaged fewer points on worse percentages. Should we worry about him too? Unless a guy plays extremely well or extremely poorly, it's hard to draw serious conclusions looking at averages over 5 games of FIBA play.

Well, I think @Cavatt 's point was to push back against the narrative that this was a bad world cup for Cedi, he messed up his 3-point shot, etc. He had some good games, some bad games, and when you put them all together the averages are, as he said, "not bad." Yeah, of course it would've been better if he'd shot 40% from 3 instead of 30% from 3, but that's really just the difference of a lucky bounce here or there. Good for him going out and representing his country.

So while Cedi's inconsistent outside shooting maybe a little worrying. Even with that horrible game against the US, his numbers ended up still close to the top of the field and better than a lot of his NBA peers ( Tatum, Brown, Mitchell, Middleton, Fournier). Now some of that has to do with Cedi being one of the three NBA player son Turkey's meaning leading to him getting more shot opportunities, but at the same time, Cedi's efficiency numbers were better.
I also think Turkey's coach underused Cedi as a playmaker, and focused to much on him being an Iso scorer. Still overall a solid FIBA for Cedi.

I just dont think its an indicator at all on how he will go in the NBA, good or bad performances included. It's more of an indication of how he might perform for Turkey at the Olympics next year imo
