Rumors said Cedi and his representation wanted something like what Nance got. That seems high and seems high for Nance to be honest. I think 8M would have been appropriate perhaps. If 8 wouldn't do it, you let the season play out. I don't mind what they did.

If you gave me the option to give that type of contract to either Nance or Cedi, I don't think I would even think twice about giving it to Cedi. I think Cedi has a better understanding of what the modern NBA is asked of a player like him. Everyone raves about how motivated he is and with his age you are more paying him about potential vs actual production.

Nance could be closer to retirement at the end of his contract extension vs Cedi who would be entering him prime after an extension. I feel like Cedi will end up earning or out earning that type of contract. Where I don't think it's a high possibility that Nance earns this extension.

One of the beat writers mentioned that Cedi doesn't have one skill that stands out. He was the worst defender in the league last year statistically. He has no offensive skills that impress. He's not much of a jump shooter, a three-point shooter, a foul shooter, or a finisher at the rim. He doesn't have a post-up game and his dribbling is below average IMO. He can't go to his left except for his predictable spin move in the lane, which is his one effective move. His passing is unremarkable.

He's at his best in the open floor in a fast break situation when he's filling a lane and getting a pass where he can attack the rim without having to put the ball on the floor. He's not good in a half-court offense. If the Cavs push the pace more this year it should help him, but he's still a seven-year pro (including his Euro seasons) who doesn't have any offensive skills that are above average plus he's an awful defender.

That's what I said. A Jaylen Brown type 29M per year guy

Yikes did anyone else see that 3 possession span where Cedi almost single handedly killed our 3rd quarter run?

That jumper never has the same form. Going to be hard to rely on it until that changes.

I think there is some stat out there that he is much better when he can get is feet set especially on 3 pt shots. They should try to get him more catch and shot opportunities. I think his form breaks down when he is rushed or he is coming off the dribble.

I thought he should have tried to get him more opportunities tonight.

He's fine. He will be really good this year. He was really disruptive and his + - was the only positive on a night where he made some mistakes. 2 3s at the end. If Collin got the 3 at the end maybe it gets really exciting.

He had a bad shooting stretch, got a no call foul and played a good game. Hit 2 3s in last ditch effort.

I think the biggest issue aside from how he looks athletically is that his form is broken. I don't know why he changed ... he had a really nice form when Korver was on the team.

Had a good game, his confidence is almost as fragile as Kevin Love's body though so we will see how long it lasts.

Cedi and Tristan were the best 2 players the cavs trotted out last night. Cedi had a stretch in the third where he missed a couple threes that hurt the momentum and AC was saying "He can't do that he is a 3 which is a premier position and can't go cold for long stretches",,,well I think we all need to remember there never seems to be a priority to get Osman shots...in the offensive pecking order you have Love/Sexton/Garland and then Cedi and TT. If anything Cedi needs to be more selfish if he's ever going to average 15ppg. Also thought his defense was pretty good last night.

Yeah, his defense was really good considering he ranked 509 out of 514 last year. It looked to me like he's really making an effort to improve on D. But as the announcers pointed out, he was scoreless from the first quarter until late in the 4th. But it was a good start - Cedi was not the problem. Clarkson going 2-for-12 and Delly bricking four uncontested 3's really hurt the offense.

I couldn't believe that play where Nance had an easy tip-in with the left hand and tried to dunk it. The ball rolled off his fingers and slammed into the backboard while Nance for some reason grabbed the rim with his right hand, resulting in basket interference. By going for the spectacular dunk instead of the routine tip-in he hosed it up and looked ridiculous.

Cedi was left on the bench too long and it looked like he had to warm up again. I thought Beilein didn't rotate guys back in fast enough. There were times they needed Cedi's size. As a starter he just got 2 min more than Nance.

Beilein really doesn't like Cedi. Cedi must play at least 35 minutes in that game, not just 28 mins.
Even he started to game very well, but coach B. forgot him so long.

Windler is out, McKinnie is out however Cedi played so less. It's unacceptable! If both join the team probably Cedi will play less than 20 mins!

Kevin Love played 36 mins, why? He couldn't run back to defense even. Anyone remember when he played that long last time?

I hope Beilein will be fired soon, if not Cedi must leave. He has no role and respect in Beilein's team and his system.

I'm not gonna watch the next game of Beilein, with his wolves and Nance & Clarkson company. Over!
(Ps: I have watched all 82 games live last season, even european time in late midnight or early morning)

Last word to Cedi haters, Cedi got 3/5 threes in the game. 1 I didn't count because it was in last second near to middle court.
However I see some guys killing him in this forum.
Yes he missed 2 important shots, he could do 1 of them if he was not forgotten in team by coach, teammates and beilein system so long. When you got cold you can miss them, even Curry does. Cedi shouldn't be just 3 & D player in this team.

I'm not sure why you're acting like 29 minutes isn't a lot.

Basically the rotation shook out like this:

-Sexton, Garland, Delly, and Clarkson ate up the 96 guard minutes.
-Love, Thompson, and Nance ate up the 96 big man minutes.
-Osman and Porter Jr. took the 48 (approx.) minutes as the 3 man.
