From Cleveland to LA to St. Louis and now back to LA. The Rams are on the move again.

Tough for the fans of St. Louis. I think the Browns should have voted against relocation. The Browns should always vote against relocation. But Jimmy & Dee must not give a shit about these things.

It makes sense for the NFL to want a team in LA, and St. Louis seems to be a baseball town, so I understand. But still feel so bad for the fans. (I know they stole the team from LA, but that was after Phoenix stole the Cards)

The 1999 Super Bowl Champion Rams, Kurt Warner, London Fletcher, Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce will always have a place in history. One of the best Super Bowls of all time.

Did they reveal the voting results? I saw it was 30-2, but didn't see who the 2 were.

Were they selling poorly?

Wouldn't it make sense that the Chargers and Raiders voted against the Rams moving? Those are probably the 2 votes.

I heard some sentiment on the radio yesterday too that Haslem should vote against it. Why? This isn't comparable to the Browns moving. Each of these moves actually make sense. Their current homes weren't fulfilling their needs.

Owner said that he doesn't think St Louis can handle the Blues, Cardinals and Rams. Given how popular the Cards are, I can't say that terribly shocks me.

The city made a stadium proposal that seemed fair to me, but LA has their own proposal that the Rams owner liked better.

Chargers/Raiders voting against it definitely makes sense. That was my 1s thought, but didn't know if they release that.

LA needs a team. I'm not sure they need 2 but they need at least 1 team. The Rams had a bad football facility and as @col63onel correctly said, St Louis is a baseball town. The logical places for a team to move from have always been St Louis and Jacksonville. I think the reason San Diego wanted to move was they have had a lot of trouble getting financing for a new football stadium, same with Oakland. Ultimately, I think Oakland gets a new stadium out of this and stays there. San Diego may move but I hope they stay where they are with a new stadium and we end up with 1 team in LA.

Is the NFL done with expansion teams?

I think LA really liked the prospect of what could happen in Inglewood even more than the Rams. Kroenke owns part of the land that will be used; he also agreed to develop that property in conjunction with the larger proprietor to complete the project/proposal. It's a gigantic plot of land. The NFL will be able to have an NFL studios located right on the property, looking over a "Crocker Park on LA" village that will also be built. It's going to be quite the NFL compound smack-dab in the middle of LA (Super Bowls, Pro Bowls, Combine, etc.).

Isn't the head of Disney leaving Disney to help on this project?

I'm pretty sure he (Robert Iger) was brought on by Jerry Richardson to lead the Carson project.

The LA Times wrote a pretty good piece on this:

Things changed in January 2014, when Kroenke bought 60 acres of land for an estimated $101 million next to 238 acres of the Hollywood Park site owned by San Francisco-based developer Stockbridge Capital. At the time, the NFL downplayed the development in public but behind the scenes the league was pushing to return a team to L.A.

Later in 2014, Kroenke and Stockbridge Capital agreed to combine their properties and work together. The developers estimate between 125 and 150 architects have been working full-time since mid-2014 on the stadium project.

Doubt it, the NFL stands to make over 1 billion for the next one. They have to have a sweetheart set up to do it though- publicly funded stadium, sweet heart lease and eager billionaire.

They need to contract teams. As do the NBA and MLB.

Couldnt disagree more. Too much money being made to justify taking any owners team- let alone screwing a municipality that built their stadium. Also the talent pools in baseball and basketball are gigantic- more then large enough to support 30 teams. Basketball has added Europe over the last two decades for talent and baseball has added both Asia and soon Cuba, which could pump out more players than the Dominican. The only argument for contraction is that it makes a championship much harder when 30 teams are vying every year for one title.

People thinking it was the Raiders and Bengals who voted no.
