The Mandalorian

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think the most irritating thing about the show, other than that laugh out loud bad woods chase after Leia, is that we are supposed to believe that Obi Wan had no clue Anakin survived Mustafar. 10 years later. No way his head is that deep in the Tatooine sand.

Obiwan show kinda meh. Vader is cool, but I imagine it's pretty hard to mess up Vader. I just don't understand Reva's character and have been underwhelmed.
It’s starting to feel like they are using this show to establish Reva as a character and then allow her to have her on series.

Obi wan is somehow less confident and able than the old man we see on episode 4. I just don’t buy it at all; nor am I interested in seeing washed up Kenobi.

That “duel” was pathetic and why are we having them clash at all in episode 3? I haven’t enjoyed at all what Disney has done with established characters from the Lucas era.

Obi Wan being a shell of himself after he basically had to kill his padawan and watch the entire Jedi order fall in a swift swoop to the now Empire isn't all that unrealistic at all......

And he's going to come back and defeat Vader at some point in the next 3 episodes...

The not knowing Anakin or Vader exists thing is infuriating though. He should know the empire is now being rules by Palpatine and his apprentice... and he should have a decent idea that was Anakin surviving based on all that happened in Ep 3.

It’s isn’t like Darth Vader is holding daily press conferences. Galaxy is a big place. Tatooine is outer rim and a guy who lives in a cave and seemingly only interact with Jawas could very easily not know anything about Darth Vader.

Yes. Well less confident, anyways. He can still catch a person falling with the force, which isn’t a minor feat, so he’s still able.

And he’s less confident because…he trained the person who helped destroy the Jedi order and the existing form of government. He quit and this series provides his redemption arc.

Loving this show much more so than the Boba series (which was fine, but mostly because of the awesome Mando episodes).

The retcons don’t bother me because Star Wars is basically just one big retcon at this point.
Only real continuity point I care about:

In ANH Vader says to Obi Wan “When I left you, I was but the learner. Now I am the master”

Their final encounter in this series, either this season or the next, has to reflect that.

Today's episode was atrocious....

Leia just keeps changing hands and it is incredibly annoying.

Ah the old let them go and track them to their base trick. Rebel scum always fall for that one.

I'm really enjoying Hayden Christensen as Vader.

He does a good job of bringing energy into Vader.

We've often seen Vader in control and his movements measured and deliberate.

His Vader is so close to accomplishing his overriding goal for the past decade and he is full of rage and passion.

His movements are rapid and lethal. Like a snake striking.

Episode 5 of Obi is the perfect support for this post.

Vader’s entire being was absolutely incredible. I thought it couldn’t get cooler than the village scene a few episodes ago, but uh….

Top notch shit. Of all the live action shows, easily my favorite episode.

I know Star Wars criticism is so amplified and it's always under a microscope. But unfortunately this series comes up short for me. Without so much Vader, who absolutely steals the show, I'd rank this below the Boba Fett series, which was not very good.

I wish they didn't feel the need to shoehorn in an original trilogy character in Leia, playing the tried and true MCU wise cracking, side kick role

Yet another "bad turned good" or "behind enemy lines type" character in Reva. I dunno, it's just a little tired and feel like she would've been more interesting without an ulterior motive of committing horrible atrocities all to get close to the guy who killed my friends so I can then kill him.

Overall it's fine. I didn't really have a clear picture in my head of what to expect going into the show, but it wasn't really this.

QUI-GON!!!

Obi-Wan unleashed!

He was truly the master. Haven't seen Vader get beat down like that since the Force Unleashed game.

Obi-Wan at his peak.

That conversation between Obi-Wan and Anakin, it is so heartbreaking.

Kenobi season 1 was pretty damn mediocre. The entire show is basically just scenes with Vader and then worthless filler around it.

It's fine, I'll still watch it because the scenes with Vader are so cool. But these other shows just haven't managed to put together a compelling story the way Mandalorian has.
