The Mandalorian

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Watching scenes like that and the Vader one in Rogue One really make it laughable that so many Jedi were gunned down by regular ass stormtroopers when the emperor issued order 66.

The only thing I can say to rebutt this is that Luke and Vader were easily two of the strongest force users in the history of the galaxy *that we know of*.

Also, having to fit it all in over the course of a 2 hour movie, people had to be screwed. Like Ki-Adi Mundi.

Well, a lot of that was the shitty way that Lucas structured the prequels. There was no reason to have Anakin be a kid other than to sell toys. Hell, in the original trilogy Obi-Wan tells Luke that his father was a great pilot when they met. Whoops. He basically wasted the entire first film on inconsequential nonsense.

There was plenty of time to tell a better story. Lucas just isn't capable of doing so any more.

Another thing I absolutely love about Filoni is that he makes sure not to destroy anything in the movies he's tying into. All of his work makes each movie better.

Ki-Adi-Mundi is the worst.

He was the living embodiment of the Jedi’s blinkered hubris.

His highlights:

-Denied the existence of the Sith even after Maul was killed (for the first time)

-Claims Count Dooku couldn’t be evil on account of his having been a Jedi, thus giving Dooku freedom of action

-Refused to come to the aid of many helpless peoples citing various dogmatic Republic regulations

-Accused Ashoka of the Temple bombing without evidence like a dick

-Like a jackass he takes over the conversation in ROTS over a strategically insignificant attack on the Wookiees thus forcing Yoda to volunteer to oversee the battle and removing him from the Temple, and the capital, at a key moment. Had he been on Coruscant he would have faced Sidious rather than Windu and prevented Anakin’s fall.

He’s the worst. He deserved to get shot 34 times.

It was clearly part of the plan, but one master with Windu would have pushed in Sidious' shit.

Although I did forget Plo Koon got absolutely crushed.

Kit Fisto lived for five seconds!

The general attack plan of every Jedi/hero in Star Wars is 'sneek up behind your enemy and disable them'; about damn fucking time it happened back to the Jedi.

Plo Koon going down like that just seems so wrong. He's such a bad ass in Clone Wars

Along with Yoda, he was the only Jedi who could use Force Judgement, which is a Jedi equivalent of Sith Lightning.*

*It is not as powerful as Force Lightning. It is studied because it is not necessarily a Dark Side power. Though Jedi have been known to use Force Lightning, though the number is very few. Master Yoda and Master Dooku (he first used it as a Padawan) being the only two in canon.

Finished clone wars

Season 7 was the best one: noticeable jump in the animation quality and excellent story line
Overrall, clone wars was good but I though uneven. The weird mystic force episodes, jar jar, padme were weak.

The episodes on Ahsoka, Mandalore/Obi Wan, Maul and the stories about clones themselves were very strong Also the disconnect between the whinny Anakin of the movies and the general who could easily see as Lukes' father is just jarring.

Still left with so many questions (maybe answered in rebels?): why did they stop making clones? Too expensive? What happened to all the droid in the separatist armies? what happened to Ventress (who turned into a compelling character: yes a mass murderer but still compelling)

Series suffers from not being consistent with Jedi powers: Ahsoka can fucking hold a space shuttle from not taking off yet she can be help by a bunch of pykes?

I can answer the Ventress question. She was supposed to feature heavily in the 7th Season, and earn redemption. But it was a short season so they had to drop it.

Instead the turned the story into a book: Dark Disciple.

The long and short of that story is that the Jedi Council decide to assassinate Count Dooku. They send Master Quinlan Vos to infiltrate and then surrender to Dooku so he could pledge himself to Dooku, fall to the Darkside and become his apprentice. And then turn on him. Ventress and her team of bounty hunters are hired to attempt to infiltrate Vos. Along the way Ventress and Vos fall in love, and the bounty hunters get their asses kicked by Dooku, who uses Force levitation and Lightning, as a spinning Sith whirly-gig to fry Boba Fett and others (the animated story boards are on YouTube).

Vos and Ventress eventually duel Dooku and they lose quickly. Ventress escapes and Dooku tortures Vos for days, and then takes Vos as his apprentice and for the next months trains him in the Darkside. Vos falls to darkness and becomes very powerful; powerful enough to threaten Dooku on near even terms. There are escapades with the Jedi who do not know Vos is deep under cover. Vos defeats Kenobi but lets him go.

The ruse is later sprung and during the three-way duel between Vos/Ventress vs Dooku, their ship crashes and Dooku is badly hurt. Vos and Ventress manage to then defeat Dooku and are about to turn him over to the Jedi when Dooku gets loose, and sends an ultra powerful Force Lightning attack at Vos, Ventress pushes Vos out of the way and is struck by the Lighting and nearly instantly killed. Dooku escapes and Vos is left mourning Ventress' death.

A sad end to a great character whose life was defined by tragedy. But in the end she came back to the light and was loved.

Well, I'm frankly glad that they didn't go with that storyline. Ventress going down with some convoluted love story would have been pretty lame for her character arc.
