The mental health thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Everyone around seems to have depression. I think depression and other mental disorders are 21st century plague (and it is the first reason of popularity of online pharmacy market). One needs serious support from family and friends, any medications won't substitute love and warmth from beloved people, I know this from my own experience.

This is true.

Been taking seroquel for sleep since June or July. I've kept weenjng down and last week was the first night's I went to sleep just with melatonin.

I wake up after 4 hours or so, I hope I'm just getting used to sleep without aid and will continue to improve. Seems reasonable and all.

Also I'm out of seroquel lol

Seroquel is the devil. Luckily you are on test, otherwise you would have had diabetes by now.

When it comes to mental health, meds isn't always the answer but help and support from people is. Even if its a bunch of strangers off the internet. Guys, and meds and Canada drugs should be taken only after consulting your doc

It sounds like he was consulting naturopaths.

My ex-friend with NPD, went through almost the same path. At one time he had an ND telling him that he had leaky gut syndrome, a GI autoimmune disorder, that doesn't exist, and had him on an all-beef broth diet and convinced him all medication was evil.

Needless to say, the broth diet led to issues and the leaky-gut thing was bunk.

Who knows what is actually wrong with him and whether or not his "treatment" is making things worse for him.

I believe his daughter had severe auto-immune issues (iirc osteoporosis and/or arthritis that had her wheelchair bound as a teenager?), and landed on all beef through dietary exclusion. He went on it after seeing the results his daughter had, and my guess is that it caught up with him.

I seriously doubt he went full blown naturalist.

He went on an all-meat diet to treat depression, as well as an auto-immune issue (psoriasis) and addiction. His daughter is now saying he had an auto-immune reaction to beef, a paradoxical response to anti-depressants and refused addiction treatment from healthcare professionals, wherein benzo addiction treatments are well known, and fled to Russia for treatment (not exactly a place known for excellent health care) where he is now in an induced coma and exhibiting signs of severe neurological damage.

Nothing about that suggests he has been taking advice from properly credentialed medical professionals. I don't think it is much of a stretch to think that through this whole bizarre interlude in alternative medicine that he may have consulted a ND for dietary advice considering a suggestion for crazy eating habits is right up their alley.

He went on anxiety meds due to anxiety from an auto immune issue. He went to an all beef diet to combat said AI issue. I feel like you are filling in the blanks here.

Not going to dispute beyond that, certainly going to Russia.

His wife also died of cancer recently. According to his daughter that is what really triggered the heavy benzo use (who could blame him).

According to his Wiki page the diet was two-fold, first a mostly meat diet, and then an all beef one, that was prompted by both psoriasis and depression.

That is bridge further than the AI issues and solution that his daughter thinks she has found.

Again, I don't think it is a stretch to believe he has received guidance from people other than his daughter, as an all-beef diet is one she recommends for AI issues only and because someone had to "diagnose," or at least given him the idea, that he is suffering from a completely different AI disorder as a result of the beef diet.

Wife is alive,. It was a cancer scare.

He's also a clinical psychologist who tends to believe in western medicine and science, I'm not sure alternative medicine makes sense.

And he was much much better after he started this diet. He dropped like 30 pounds and looked healthy as hell. He's always suffered from seasonal depression.

This sounds like painting your own beliefs onto the person.
