The bill has no Republican support. Was put forward as a fluff piece not a real piece of legislation. Both sides need to work together to get a bi-partisan bill.
@cavsfan1985 what specifically makes the proposed legislation a "fluff piece" and why in your opinion is it partisan?

REALLY? I think you'd have a hard time finding a historian that would say that it's not a concentration camp until a million fucking people had died. That's insane. By your own scale, a THREE out of TEN seems massive for modern day America. A 3/10 on the Nazi scale seems completely unacceptable and worthy of strong language IMO.

Yes, it's strong language and that language does draw a connection to Nazi Germany, but again, concentration camps are not monopolized by the Nazis and do not necessarily need to be death camps. What's the point of "never forget" if we don't try to stop it before the killing starts?

On a related note, there have been multiple accounts now of US citizens, children even, being detained and separated from their family for days simply for being brown- I mean for having parents that aren't American.
Its sensationalizing at its worst to be honest, that's all I am saying and why would I care what a historian thinks about it, I am saying the phrase is associated with Nazi germany just like the phrase go back to where you are from is associated with racism. If you condemn one and thinking fairly, you condemn the other.

And talk about an oissue not getting enough press. People with driver's licenses and even birth certificates are being detained, that is a huge issue and needs to stop immediately.

At it's worst? Please.

Comparing the two feels offensive if I'm being honest. Look at the intent. One is to ring warning bells that our actions are violating human rights and we need to change course. The other is simply a racist attack.

And talk about an oissue not getting enough press. People with driver's licenses and even birth certificates are being detained, that is a huge issue and needs to stop immediately.
I agree with you totally. And even though we clearly disagree on language terms, that debate is fairly trivial in comparison to the the actions of this administration.

To the GOP members of the board, I'm curious to find out your take on this news.

Mueller testified this week that Russia made significant strides in influencing our elections in 2016 and 2018. They are still doing it and are planning to go after 2020 hard if not harder than 2016. Christopher Wray has repeatedly, including this week multiple times, said the same thing. The intelligence community has been saying it and even testified to Congress saying similar things. The fact that McConnell is blocking these bills is unconscionable to me. He says of the bill “Clearly this request is not a serious effort to make a law. Clearly something so partisan that it only received one single solitary Republican vote in the House is not going to travel through the Senate by unanimous consent,”

Ok. What is partisan about it? What does the GOP propose that isn't 1 sided partisan? We have a problem with protecting our elections, I think we all can agree with the Intelligence community on that. Why aren't we doing anything?

I'd like to hear some GOP voices on this. Your thoughts?
This story gets worse and worse and worse. I can't believe McConnell is on the up and up. He is acting guiltier than Trump.

Every week this story gets more concerning. Now voting in every state, not just one. Mueller and Wray are both saying this is dire.

While I'm certainly in favor of more transparency, the redacted Mueller report already demonstrates collusion, though evidently not criminal conspiracy.

I don't know what it would take for Mitch to take action, but this President is judged by a markedly different standard than any of his predecessors; to the deterimant of the country. The Dems should impeach regardless, and force Mitch to block the impeachment in the senate.

What a miss leading title. I have a hard time seeing there being anything in there that proves anything. With how bias the report has already been against Trump, if there was any true evidence it would have came out. Focus on the elections and remove Trump the right way by winning the election.
please define "true evidence". Is it any different than just evidence?

To me it is evidence that is undisputed. Right now both sides point to things that are evidence based on their bias.

How is the report biased against Trump?

There's evidence of collusion already, there always was, but that's not the same as criminal conspiracy which is what Mueller was working on.
