Damn the torpedoes, offer the moon, say yes to Mars, and we'll get our small forward!Hey, this is a Safari thread. Who cares what the Nuggets offered? While on Safari, we honor names like Mike Bibby, Amare Stoudemire, and LeBron James by refusing to read any negative tea leaves. We don't back down until the ink on a contract with another team is dry. Strap on that Swedish penis pump and get swole, boys! Watson can still be ours until he isn't!

Id rather keep DennisSaw a proposed trade (pretty complex one) that had us giving up Tyson and our 1st as the sweetener for Watson while getting off Dennis’ contract. Seems too rich to me.
Need to get back more than Watson for both Tyson and a firstSaw a proposed trade (pretty complex one) that had us giving up Tyson and our 1st as the sweetener for Watson while getting off Dennis’ contract. Seems too rich to me.
Holy hell. I had Tyson and Watson in a similar tier, personally. But that is crazy.Let's be honest, are we trying to find a clone for Tyson?

Yes I was astounded when I saw that too, not expecting that level of overlap.Holy hell. I had Tyson and Watson in a similar tier, personally. But that is crazy.
Points to Watson being a valuable, but not indisposible player. At age 23 you can expect improvement, but it's hard to quantify. Especially when it both comes with a higher salary consideration as well as costing assets to acquire.
Of course opportunity costs are also in play. This roster has a limited window. How many similar or better options will become available in that window? Who knows.
The league failing to meet revenue projections has as much to do with it as the aprons under the new CBA. Everyone went out and signed guys with the idea that cap would go up 10% year over year and it hasn't. So there's a lot of contracts that teams believed would age well and they haven't.The salary caps and extreme price tag of top talent is putting the middle to upper grade talent in a pinch financially. Will be interesting to see how it shakes.
