The Opening Night Optimism Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Optimistic that Zizic will play most of the 4th quarter tonight :chuckle:

This team will be a 180 from what we've seen these last years in play and wins. I am expecting a fringe playoff team much like the Pacers last year. The ball movement along with the defense will be a fresh revelation.

Oh and "GO CAVS!"

Speak for yourself...fuck those chokers.
If those "fuckers" as you call them could spend the money that Gilbert spends......they would not be chokers....The Cavs had one thing and that was James.....let us see where they go now. They better hit on their young talent or they will never get out of the mud...like the start with Sexton and Cedi....Z is not the all star that people in here make him out to be. CLE is not a hotbed for free agents in either sport ... KD, Kyrie, Klay are not coming to the Cavs and Machado, Harper are not coming to the Tribe. Both will have to draft and trade well to contend.

So excited to see the 2018 version of the infamous Byron Scott arm crossing!

I remember 2010-2011. We had an "All-Star" in Mo Williams, vets in Twan, Andy, AP. I'm bracing for a long long year. But yes, last year did totally suck.

Lmao are you comparing Mo Williams to Kevin Love?

Tonight I will sleep very less but definitely I must watch the opening game.
Especially wondering Cedi versus Kawhi.
Hopefully Zizic will play 20+ mins today. (Nance is out)
Anyway, I am super excited today...
Have a successful and good development year guys.

I love international fans. Always a great addition to the forum.

Enjoy your time.

If Love or to a lesser degree Hood gets hurt for a significant amount of time we could see the Cavs struggle enough to justify tanking hard to retain the lottery pick after the deadline dealings of Korver and Hill & maybe Smith, but if not, I cannot see them winning less than 41 games putting them right in the mix for the 7th or 8th seed. I have a lot more confidence in this team right now than I might have after a couple weeks though esp if they are not pushing the pace like they are planning out of the gate. This roster as is will outperform most models if I had to bet on it.
If they run, they can beat 75% of the teams they face, if they run and they defend at a decent level as the season goes on they could be the 4 seed.
I think their floor without going tank mode is 8th seed but only because of a tough end to the season schedule otherwise 7th.

Not liking that Nance Jr is already banged up before the first game of the season, it just goes with his pattern and will most likely worsen as he ages into this 4 year deal. I don't think he'll ever be a lock for 70+ games. He gets too many nagging injuries and recovers slowly due to his health reasons.

Yeah it's cool to have him as a Cav and wear #22, but it's also going to be frustrating because he's simply going to miss games.

well nobody is a lock to play 70 games in the NBA unless their usual position is on the bench. I hear you as far as durability but I don't see him as injury prone just yet.
