My grandma loved Christmas lights, we used to go to Nela Park every year in the 80's when I was a kid.

Side note, never understood why Christians decorated their houses for Christmas but Jews never did for Chanukah...the festival of lights, lol

Always thought the same. Break out the blue and white lights man.

Pure speculation on my part, but using history as a guide... Announcing you are Jewish to world by decorating the exterior of you house with Chanukah imagery/lights probably wasn't in your best interest.

I did that for a few years, my ex wife converted and missed Christmas so we decorated our house with blue and white lights.

I thought of that before too...i am a product of Grandparents and Great Grandparents immigrating hear from Eastern Europe in the 20''s avoiding Nazi Germany, so joking aside, it was a very real thing in my life.

My cousins have said they don’t like announcing that they’re Jewish to the world. They don’t put signs up about their kids school or any of that type of stuff.
