Makes sense, they had a FSO deal before there old ownership group tried to move the team to Austin and signed a garbage TV deal in the mean time that just broadcast around Columbus.

MLS isn't the quality of the the top European leagues by any means but it's light years better then it was even 15 years ago. The league will still sign some over the hill stars that flair out but they've made much more of an effort to search for the young South American stars, look at Atlanta United who just won last year with a team that they could eventually sell some players and sustain their success. If nothing else check out the Crew though they are usually pretty good and have some local connections obviously with Haslams and there new coach Caleb Porter was the coach at Akron when they won a National Championship, it'll be interesting to see if the Cleveland connections get stronger now.
Definitely want to check them out. Been to a game before, was pretty fun. I just started getting into soccer in the past year. Love Liverpool.

Been a soccer fan most my life but it's hard for me to say I've had an allegiance to one team other then USMNT, which hasn't worked out so well lately. So I end up following teams that the American players play on like Borussia Dortmund (Pulisic for now) isn't as rewarding though during club season. Altough I have still seen some epic moments like Clint Dempsey vs Juventus in Europa League Semi-final(2nd-tier European Tournament) score a goal to send his smaller team to the final:

Columbus is probably a team I closely follow then most other teams though and with the new TV deal might pay closer attention then trying to find a stream or waiting for minimal National TV games the Crew are on.

The battle between Chelsea Arsenal and Man Utd for the 4th spot seems to be the most exciting thing this season

I like watching soccer but I wish they would just get rid of offsides and force teams to defend the whole field. I think the American audience would buy in alot more if there were more goals.

The whole part of the defense being able to control the size of the field has never made sense to me. If a player sneaks in behind the defense, it shouldn't be that players fault that the defense didn't notice them.

Eh...that would basically just accomplish eliminating the midfield game. You'd have to shorten the pitch, or something.

Ironically I am a lifelong soccer player and I prefer indoor (with walls and no offsides) to outdoor. But the indoor game, at least the level I play at, is largely just back and forth with minimal midfield play.

Megan Rapinoe is awesome.

There was a time when the offside rule did not exist and it made soccer so boring that hey needed to introduce this to increase viewership. Think of that like the 3 second rule in basketball.

So Charlotte got awarded an MLS team. Should I be excited to make a 3 hour trip to watch soccer?
