The Travel Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I always use Google Flights. Seem to be cheapest, also use Expedia too.

Going to Honduras for a week next month. Any tips?

Best site to find flights?

Is there a timing element to finding the cheapest fares? Book well in advance...wait until closer to the trip? Day of the week?
I still use skiplagged. Besides Google Flights, it'll also give you options where you miss a part of your journey for a cheaper fare.

Example. Cleveland to Boston with a layover in NYC is cheaper than a ticket from Cleveland to NYC. Buy the Boston ticket, just dont get on your second leg.

Sitting here in Stockholm watching people walk by as I enjoy a drink, I can’t help but notice the lack of obese people. It really seems like it’s just the tourists.

As for me, I find Trip Advisor invaluable in my vacation planning process. It is especially helpful for ideas of top sites to visit and also travelers often give great tips about visiting sites (best time to go, how to avoid the queue, which side of the train/bus etc to sit on!) . Also travelsites.com can hardly be overestimated as I can always find good hotel/flight/car rental deals through it as well as all inclusive offers. without having to worry about detail.

For those who rent cars often, are there companies to just avoid? I do searches and a few come up as cheaper options, but do you pay the price in the end?

I see companies like:

Fox
E-Z Rent-a-car
Advantage

They are cheaper than the other companies that I am more familiar with from commercials and such. Are these wroth using or to be avoided?

Recommendations for Denver?
What are you into?

Hop Alley is one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants I've ever been to, plus they have an awesome cocktail bar. It's really the only place I make sure I go to every time I'm there.

There's obviously a ton of breweries. I still like going to Avery when I can--but it's in Boulder, not Denver. Favorite brewery in Denver is Crooked Stave. If you like sours, they're one of the best around.

Doing a 7 day Hawaiian cruise in July. Kinda nervous. Never been on a cruise or a 10 hour flight before. I’m not scared of flying but I do find myself antsy on flights (and the ones I take are usually 2 hours tops) but thankfully I dont think I get sea sick.

anyone been out there?
